so, i'm not sure how to deal with this problem, so I'm making a thread about it here.

I've been coming across spammers on the site and it's really getting annoying. I made this thread, so when anyone comes across one of these "people" you can post them in this thread so that they can be dealt with.

zhangguihui this account needs to go, i'll find others soon.
 
We ban them as soon as we know about them, and delete all their threads right away. Its just a little harder to find all their posts buried in the threads. Let us know where you see them and we'll do our best to delete them

How about people post the names of spammers here? (Preferably with links to their spam threads like the posts above this one).
Also for the mods: maybe look into creating a filter on thread messages to not allow messages with certain websites being posted? A lot of these messages are for the same websites. Also prevent registering from the IP adresses which have had spammers. Easier said than done I suppose.
 
Spammers don't use local IPs and they use randomly generated proxies so an IP ban is pretty futile.
 
dddsssaaa is another spammer. maybe something can be changed in how people sign up for the site? I haven't made an account in years, but is there a "write down the letters from the box above" kind of thing?
 
Ask a simple skiing-related question instead? I guess that might be hard for people new to the scene and would require either them to know English or the questions would have to be in multiple languages. I'm just putting ideas out there.

I got that to. I sent her a kindly worded email from my fake email explaining that i am so glad she contacted me but unfortunately i am involved with someone else at this moment in time.
 
It seems like the same person or group of people doing it. They all have terrible english and are linking to the same stuff from China, right?
 
Yes we can't stop them permanently they keep creating new accounts! It's really fucking annoying me! I feel like writing a complaint to every site they want us to go to so desperately just so they get the fucking picture on how annoying and disrespectful they're being with this unrelenting spam.
 
What about tracking their IP adress...if one of the persons whom manages the website...like a bishop or something..can track them down there could be something done about this...just a late night ramblin' thought i dont really know too much about managing the internet but this crap is getting really old!

And we can now delete all their posts with one click, so no more finding them scattered all over the site =)
 
i dont understand their motivation to continuosly spam the forums. are they actually profitting from this stuff? seems like they're pissing more people off than anything.
 
Well, looks like biebie88 was more succesful than you because, he has tons more post in ski-gabber. :S Simply look at the last post of every thread.
 
Yeah, I just realized that we don't quite have it for forum posts yet, it was to fix the issue of them being spammed on pictures, videos, blogs etc. So that feature is still yet to come. So keep showing us where the spam posts are. We always appreciate.
