beckett vs clemens. whos gonna win? personally i think that beckett is by far the best pitcher in the league, but many say that clemens will have a vintage night tonight. NS, who do you think is gonna win? AND DONT SAY BASEBALL SUCKS

im going tot he game tomorrow it should be pretty sweet i wanted tog o tongiht but we are doing somthign else but w/e i get to see a yankees ame at yankee stadium befor eit says bye bye

Red Sox all the way.

Clemens was tight back in the day. Now he sucks.

Becketts very good so long as he doesnt give up anything in the first inning or two. If he does, its downhill.

yeah he may not be the best but hes damn good. and now clemens is like 100 years old and sucks so im gonna say the red sox will probably take this one

im goen to the game tomorrow too, im not too worried about this series, yeah the yankees may win a few games, but they wont be able to take over the sox in the long run, they may make it intersting, but the redsox pitching will just get the edge

ok if beckett isnt the best pitcher in the league than who is? he has the most wins, the fewest losses out of any pitcher besides for brad penny and adam harang. (4 and 3 respectively). he leads the league in wins despite missing 2 starts, has more K's than any other 16 or 15 game winner in the AL, by far less walks than most pitchers, and a 3.21 era which is pretty good.

their hitting as of late scares me though....pitching has been good but shit, they cant get any run support

alright the red sox are definatly going to win.

ONE: Yankees pitching sucks

TWO: Beckett is nasty

THREE: the sox didnt lose to the Detriot Tigers 16-0

FOUR: Clemens is like 45

reasons why you are wrong -

1 - clemens is an all time great and still has nasty shit

2 - beckett is over rated

3 - alex rodriguez

4 - one tigers game doesnt have shit to do with anything

5 - yankees are bomb at home

im no yankees fan, but im no redsox fan either. in my eyes the yankees will win the series, especially at home

^well the yankees just benched Mussina. probably there 2nd best pitcher.

the red sox are still up by 7

25% of the rest of our games are against the Devil Rays.

Yankees have a tough schedual for pritty much the rest of the year.

so even if the yankees win the series, the sox win the division. got anything to say to that?????

as a devout yankees fan im confident that it'll just be too loud tonight for clemens not to throw a memorable game, but for those of you who think beckett is overrated...your idiots..the dudes filthy

matsuzaka on the other hand is overrated

becketts having a good season dont get me wrong but he isnt anything special. his numbers over his career havent been anything to really boast about.

anyways i never said shit about who will win the division, but if you are counting the yankees out you got something wrong with you

and no the redsox have 2 series against everyone in their division left, plus a few non division seriers, so its pretty stupid to count on the devil rays...devil rays got some players anyways

^ hahahhaha o so its a flewk that the rays are what 27 games behind. the devil rays have carl crawford.

and were forgetting one thing the red sox are filthy. even though we have a shit right fielder (jd drew) and a cock sucking short stop (julio lugo)

i disagree. beckett is something special. hes just getting into his prime and will win more cy youngs after this one.

clemens is pitching so surprisingly well... i mean 5 years ago anything less than this was disappointing but for right now im pretty happy

nice one retard. how did that world series go? oh yeah, beckett won the deciding game and was named world series MVP. he will always have that, even if they have beat up on him the last 2 years

BASEBALL SUCKS

And how can you compare two pitchers if they aren't even competing against each other. Maybe if they threw pitches against the same people you could hold a decent argument, but for as much as i can tell, you can't tell for shit, it's all opinion.

are you retarded? Both pitchers are never in the game at the same time, thus they never even play against each other. One pitcher plays against a certain group of people and the other plays against a completely different group, thus comparing them is impossible to do without involving opinion. If they somehow played against each other, and you clearly had a winner, than its easy to say who is better, but that's not the case.

brent youre such a fag, you live in MA and dont like the red sox. now youre gonna say something like no i live in RPI now.

incredibly off topic but hey i live 20 minutes from RPI if your talkign abotu the college in new york

and for christs sake its pretty easy to compare pitchers if yo uactually know what your taking about

wow, i never knew you were so gay andrew, fuck you. So i'm from boston and i don't like the red sox, OH MY GOD. Sorry i don't like baseball, but i think its such an individuals sport. Theres no teamwork involved, and all the matters is what team has the most money and can buy the best players. The rest is strategy by the pitcher and the coaches.

Unlike some people, i actually have a life and enjoy playing sports, not just watching them.

BTW, nice icon, poser. This kid started using it after i told him i got a free t shirt from bluehouse for using their icon and showing support for them.

k brent, if its whoever has the most money and the rest is strategy, then what difference is it from all of the other sports?

the fact that other sports actually require practice and teamwork. You can't just throw the best football players on one team and expect to win. It would never work because they would all be doing different things and making mistakes all over the place.

you once said you like individual sports because youre full of yourself and think that youre the best at everything.

first off, i never said i thought i was the best at everything, or anything for that matter. Second, i was talking about individual sports like skiing or golf, where it's just you. In baseball you can do well but still need to rely on the performance of others. Like imagine if golf was was a team sport where teams were 3 people, and you average all three scores. All you can do is try your best, but no matter what you have to rely on the other people to do well also, and can't do anything about it.

it wouldnt work with baseball either. only people who know nothing about baseball say things like that. its fine thats its not your thing but just leave people who like it alone.

in other news the game is heating up who else is watching
