southerners vs. northerners (my personal opinion)

I've been thinking lots about how really there are 2 different types of new school skiers in michigan. The southern staters, (big rapids and south...) and the norther staters(big rapids and north). This is what i have come to conclude. The southern skiers really don't have as much as the nothern skiers do, the north has parks like boyne, nubs, crystal, ect... all parks i would cut off my left nut to call my own. Although the southern half of the state extremely lacks some park, i believe we have just as much, if not more talent as the kids who get to ride sick parks everyday ( the notherners). Now i am not trying to start a war here at all, because all the kids I know from the north, Jon C, Brett, Wes, Eric K, Scott K, i have nothing but love for you. So i am not ripping on anyone. this is my final point : The northern state skiers are sick, and maybe have a good table or two to learn on, so they might be better at tricks. BUTTTTTTT... the southern state skiers kick everyones ass in terms of rails, and are really not that far behind in tricks. People from the southern end can throw switch misties, switch rodeos, d-spins, flat spins, u name it, we got it. I just think our rail skills are above everyone else. ONCE AGAIN I AM NOT TALKING SHIT, ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS GIVE MY SOUTHERN STATE RIDERS SOME PROPS. Northerns : i love you guys, no shit is being talked at all. What does anyone have to say? Opinions, opinions....

 
Lane your right. southerners are good. You guys have balls. This weekend a kid from Grand Rapid who could not ski very well who never has hit pipe before and the first day hitting it he was trying a d-spin 900 it was crazy.

 
Us Cadillac kids are good at rails... but, um, here in Cadillac, 'railing' means something entirely different.

That was jus the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Any asshole can hit a 10-15 foot jump and try to whip a trick and land it once and a while. Come to Marquette and try hucking your tricks of jumps that are 55+. You are gonna land on your face and die.

It's not about what tricks you can whip but how big you go and how much style you have.

not to ri on you munter, but marquette doesnt have any tables over 55feet, at least they didnt janurary 20th, cuz i was there

the big side of the garage at the end of the pipe is right around 55 and so is the big side of the general right after it.

marquette does have several jumps around 55 feet i stepped them out the other day, plus i threw down off them also

Whoa, pull your head out of your ass, munter. Just because we might not have as nice of a park as yours doesn't mean that we couldn't throw down in it. Nub's Nob had a solid 45-fter over Christmas that the boys were killing, and just a few weekends ago the Crystal crew hit up a 60-70 ft transfer gap.

So in response, don't judge someone by the park they ride... because if you do that, then you're just a little shit too, compared to Mammoth, Tahoe, June, Whistler, Mt. Hood, Copper, Breck, Vail, etc. etc.

what i was trying to say is that kids who can't even throw a smooth 3 with a grab are trying to to throw d-spins and rodeos is fucked up. They are only huckers and can't ski. this guy who posted this is judging talent in fucked up way. Just because someone hucks a rodeo 7 of a fifeteen foot jump with no grab and barely lands doesn't make them any better of a skier.

by looking at the number of posts you've got on here i think you need to lay off the computer and get a life.

by no means am i going to be a dick here whatsoever....you downstate boys are somethin else....the few riders i know from downstate can definetly throw down...no questions asked, and by NO means am i talking my self up, cuz i suck ass, but first of all, 'northerners?' north is considered the bridge? dont forget about the U.P., its a whole different story up here. yes, i get where ur coming from not having the vert. and acelling in rails, but, as hard to believe as it is, there is 1 sickass park here, marquette, and if indianhead gets thier head out of there ass, 2, cuz its got potential, as long as its maintained, props to stu on both of those. the west end of the U.P. i-head, blackjack, etc. has some riders that are sick at hits and rails that have never had any, explain that? parks around here are shit if there even is any, and for the exception of indianhead this year, there was no rails, because we never had the priveledge of having them because of the stupid ass management who wants the family orientated bullshit. Tony Armichardy, and John Kimball aka. Nipple, can toss down. (you may remember seeing them at MS02, which both finished top 10, tony's got a quick spot in espionage, backflip 180)both of them, cork 7's, lotta 9's, and whatever they pull invert are all smooth as hell. why havent u heard the names.... tony keeps hurting himself in indoor motocross the last 2 years, and nipple is usually broke and isnt the huge fan of compitition....look for them in the future.....they will definetly be scorin' high and kickin ass. also, theres a 12 year old racer i know from Ashland, Wi tossing 10's, NO LIE. so my point being, run with what u got, these guys did, i cant even begin to explain how. can u?

marquette just set up the big air jump for the midwest extremes that will make you all shit in your saggy ass droors. 60+ feet no lie, followed by a 55+ foot table.

 
you should post some pics of these jumps and rails. did you say a 60ft down kink? i wanna see some pics. i am hoping to be up there this weekend. will this warm weather hurt anything?
