im deciding which resort to ski this winter, and im deciding between snow, stratton, and okemo. i want to get a discount pass to one of these so skiing's more affordable. how's stratton's glades and pipe throughout the year? i skied there two times this year but didn't ski the glades, and the pipe wasn't done one time and icy the other. how's okemo's glades?

i went to stratton in spring for the vt open and the glades were nice other than thte lack of snow then. the pipe is nice in the spring but i dont know about the winter

just get the stratton/okemo pass becuase when ones not that great the other is going to be good. pretty much okemo is the best place for pipe and stratton park.

if youre in college get the stratton/okemo college pass for 299 unrestricted...its a money deal.

mount snow is better overall than stratton or okemo. okemos pipe is the best of the three and strattons glades are the best of the three, however snows park and groomers are the best of the three and their pipe and glades are both second best

I would have to say that Stratton is your best bet. Its huge and has amazing terrian. The lift service is top notch too, its owned by the same company that ownes Whistler.

 
I like mt snow a lot better, not as crowded as stratton or okemo, and best natural terrain. Stratton is my least favorite

i don't know, all those resorts have become part of new york city. i'd go north if i were you. but okemo has a bitchin park, but awful terrain. that place doesn't have one reall double black on the mountain. my mom likes that place cause the grooming is nice. that shows ya the crowd they're going for. i haven't been to stratton in years, but the $75 lift ticket sums up how ritzy and shitty it's become. never been to snow.

stratton is expensive, but I went there last day of the season last year and it was still nice. Okemo and mt. snow are good too

$299 Stratton/Okemo student season pass. unrestricted. can't beat it.

yeah but im still in high school. and stratton is more affordable if you get a discount pass. i also like stratton because i sleep in a camper in vermont, and the village gives me something to do the night before i ski. stratton had a sweet park throughout the year too.

I just hate how Stratton is all about money, there are way too many people there that are there to show off that they have money and not enough to actually ski hard. There are some that will ski hard, but Stratton just seems to be becoming the Aspen of the East (some good terrain, soem good skiers, but too much glitz and glam). Mount Snow has a tendency to be taken over by NYC skiers (which isn't necessarily a bad thing - my brother is a NYC skier), but personally I would go for Okemo, and if Stratton is included on the pass so be it.

 
hehe, waterville was my home away from home when I was in high school (or I should say when I was skipping school in high school). Always loved Waterville, in my opinion has always been a good little area (and only a 90 minute commute for me).

 
intrawest sucks but yeah the stratton/okemo pass is the best value in the east. you said you're still in highschool? that kinda sucks. you should call and see if they'll apply it for you. if not get the stratton pass because you have to have a pass to ski stratton. a lot of times you can get away with it at okemo and if you do get caught then they'll just yell at you....unless you're andy lempke and try to hike the pipe after anyway. then they make you pay a fine right there on the spot

yeah im still not sure because i like skiing glades a lot, and this past winter i mostly skied snow and know my way around well. but snow's pipe isn't that great and i got into skiing pipe at the end of the season.

not too bad. they are plentiful if you know where to find them which i don't. i follow my friends to get to them. i get lost there all the time unless going to noreaster or the sobe park. damn that mountain and all the trail crossings
