which resort has the best glades in southern vermont? oh yeah and how far is jay peak from connecticut?

-chris

I'd personally say that Okemo has the best Glades. They are wicked fun. There are a few cliffs in one of them that are fun to go off of. Me and My friend went there a day in April and it was all powder. The glades were great! And Jay is way the hell up in Vermont. It's almost to Canada. Where in Ct do you live? I live in Glastonbury

i'm in west hartford. I like the glades at mount snow myself, but i didn't really look for them at okemo. Does it take like 6 hours to get to jay?

-chris

what glades do you ski at mount snow? what ones have some good clifs in them?

okemo glades arent that good. ive heard jay peak has the best glades, and killington has those things called fusion zones(just areas where the smaller trees and brush are cleared away and they arent maintained at all), they are pretty kickass, especially fusion zone julio after a snowstorm and the one over on rams head peak, uggh soooo nice.

theres glades off the express lift at snow, on the northface, and corinthia. there's probably more but thats where i ski them.

-chris

yeah, stowe is saick. theyve got everything. jays sick to, so much snow, such good terrain.

okemos glades suck compared to jay or stowe. smuggs also has the sick shit. okemo gets little snow, and lots of people. skied out quickly. mt snows also arent that good. in the north face its alright, you can have some fun. saptapper on the main mountain is flat, but no one ever skis it.

off dear run, there is a power line, ski that until where everyone cuts off, then hike along the line until it looks good. its untracked and pretty open. empties out near the base of the sunbrook quad. thats as good as itll get for mt snow.

stratton has some alright stuff, pretty fun if you dont have to pay for a ticket.

killington has some pretty damn nice trees to.

all thsoe placees will never compare with up north or out west though.

Yea Okemo glades suck, I don't even consider them glades. Double diamond i think it is is completely clear except for a couple of trees. The trials in mount snow is huge, so you can almost always find powder. I got a scar in those woods...

BAH! Okemo? Best Glades? Doubtful. Best tree skiing in the East is BY FAR Jay Peak. Man, that place is so sick. Snow and terrain are far and away the best in the east. It's about 5 hours from Boston, so Connecticut is... I dunno.

mad river has the best glades! there is sick pow in there and not many people know all of them and there are millions of ways to ski all of them. you can pretty much ski the whole mountain. most of the trees are thined out for skiing

www.smellypoop.com check it out dogs. it is pimpin

dude i was just kidding. dont take it so serious. when is the best time to go to tucks?early spring break like the 15th or in late march

i like to burn things

i can do a summersault

mto snow shoudlnt be on the list for best glades. i love how you just skipped over stowe and smuggs. ive heard mad river is dope, but ive never skied there, so i cant reviewn it.

and shutup benditto, a lot of the skiing here is pretty good. just check out tucks or just abotu any part of stowe. youll see. its not bad. the west is obciously better, but theres some east coast terrain that can be compared. lets not forget that jay gets more snow thatn just about any colorado resort......

O YEA!!! Magic mountain truly is amazing for glades. I completely forgot, and I see it everyday i ski in the winter at bromley. After a powder storm, youve got it made there. They are insanely steep for the east, and barely anyone goes there. The only bad thing is they only have one double lift, cause they hardly get any business

mad river is one big fucken glade. no man made snow = no ice just some bare spots. no snowboarders = really good moguls and no spots where the boarders push the snow off the hill

stowe looked very good but i went there late season and didnt ski the glades too much

As other's have said, Mt. Snow... but I am in N. VT so I only ski down there on occasion, even though I have a pass... hmmm. I don't know exact measurements but Jay is pretty close to the Canadian border if that helps. Go there, they have good bumps, and afterwards, if you are underage, you can drive an 45-hour and go get hammered in Canada! Haha. Mad River is great, it's right near my house. Smuggs has good stuff. ***Any smuggs skiers ever skied Jay's Glade? That run is in memory one of my dad's best friend who passed away, Jason Woods-- who is Andy Wood's uncle. It's a good run. It's on Sterling I think... err maybe Madonna?

And then Trogdor smote the Kerreck, and all was laid to burnination.

TROGDOR THE BURNINATOR!

i would say that killington is the best in southern vermont, it has so many sick trails like the fusion zones and on bear mnt, i think, it has the big dipper glade, which is a sick trail

if you go to okemo, you gotta make your own glades for it to be any good.....

but Jay is the best skiing i have ever seen in the east.......

and the entire mountain is a glade, if that's what you want.... their woods policy is sooooo chill.... if you see it, you can ski it......

Best Glades in S. VT are definately definately at Magic. Local students get a $10 season pass haha. Stratton is pretty sick in the later season (around VT/US Open is so pimp), but ticket prices will make you want to shoot yourself ($299 local student pass). Bromley is so much fun though. There is so many hidden stashes that so few people know about. Mad River is definately worth the trip if your in Vermont, in my opinion a more fun mountain than Jay.
