Red Mountain has ample oppourtunities for both kickers and big mountain terrain, use caution though, it is a very volitile avalanche area. Coal Bank is better for straight up big mountain terrain, with some decent features not too far off the road, but there are spots for booters. Molas is the best place to build a big ass powder booter, as the summit of Molas is just rolling hills with few trees, excellent places to build rollover jumps.

ok, so i need some directions to these places...like what road they're on, what city they're by, if there's an old dead pine i should keep my eyes out for.

alright, not sure what direction you're coming from but theyre all super easy to get to, from the north, find US highway 550 south out of Montrose, Colorado, and follow it until it ends up in this tiny town called Ouray, at which point you start up Red Mtn Pass. The goods are near the top, which is after a long climb from Ouray. After Red Mtn you drop into Silverton, and then from there the highway heads south over Molas and Coal Bank Passes. It's all super easy to follow, US 550 is the only main road around. From the south, just make your way to Durango, Colorado and head north on, you guessed it, US 550. Make sure you go AFTER a blizzard, because those three passes are some of the worst in the entire country when it snows. And like it said in the backcountry of summit county thread, be careful about avvies. Colorado already has notoriously shitty snowpack and the San Juans have probably the worst snowpack in the state. So just use caution and have a good time. Silverton Mountain Ski Area is also six miles up county road 110 from Silverton, if you can get a ticket ;)
