Im so sick of dealing with this place. 90% of the people here are rednecks. Our ski season lasts about a month or less. The patrollers tear down any of the sad little 2ft. jumps you manage to build on the grommers, and there is absolutely no park on the mountain at all. I feel like such a poser trying to ski here, my best trick is 270 to icey headslam. I dunno if its because I suck or because im trying to jump off flat ground. We end up hitting little bumps at mach speed trying to get any airtime whatsoever and then we get bitched at for skiing to fast. The only rail ive hit is the little wood logs on top of the barrier around the ski lift poles.

And I actually managed to break my shoulder here, because a retard from a merging trail ran into me, ruining any chance of me skiing when we went to Utah last year, and ending my shitty season.

This year, and I'm still here. We've got some trips planned with some friends so maybe it'll go better. I'm gonna try so hard to bail on this place next year when i go to college and head to U of Utah. I'll take out student loans and hope for a scholarship or something because I doubt my parents will help with shit since they say I could go to a crappy college around here for practically nothing.

What would you do If you were living in a shithole like this?
 
sucky, def move somewhere, its definitely cool that you staying true and still trying to ski the way you want.

Now i hope kids wont complain about how bad their day was, if they look at that trail map
 
Btw, half the slopes are closed all winter during most seasons, and black diamond here = blue circle almost anywhere else in the world.

I'm filling out an online app for UofU right now. I want to fake my residency so badly but I know I'll just get screwed over in the end. I should just beg admissions to waive the out-of-state fees until they block my number and file a restraining orser on me.
 
HAHA I feel your pain. I live in Virginia but at least we have a park. I'm pissed though I spent last yeear in jackson hole but now I'm stuck back here going back to college and what not. christ almighty!
 
i fucking hear ya man! i moved to alabama this summer and i might have to drive and hit that shit up... does it ever snow enough to hit rails? like around there?

i will most likely just fly somewhere for a trip to ride but i don't know if that will be available, if not i will msg ya man

Gatlinburg represent man! This is the worst place in the world to ski. I've been skiing there for 4 seasons. The best jump I ever built was a 2 footer that gave us about 4 feet of air over about 8 feet of ground, and it was so bombholed out by the end of the day that the mud was coming through the snow. Amen to sucky skiing. If you can keep the fire alive here, than anything is better.
 
Holy shit dude, I had no idea there would ever be anyone on NS that skis at ober. I'll see you up there when they open in a month or so, haha.
 
yeah so i just noticed they have a regional forum for nebraska and dakotas. what is the deal as bad as the southeast is we should have a forum before those damn cornhuskers do.
 
dude, whyd you make me look at that? you would have to stack 6-7 of my ski resorts up on top of each other to have the same vertical, and I still wouldnt have any snow...
