South Side Rail Jam

ya i wuz gunna post this like 2 weeks ago but i 4got lol..... anyways... i cant go cuz its the same day as the wilmot ski school meeting....

BUT i got good news:

When i went in for the job i was talking to tim (he works at wilmot) and he told me about this and another rail jam thats either going to be the next week or the week after that in vollo at munson marine so ya thats just a heads up for another wilmot jam

PS: He said since they're setting up two rail jams outside of wilmot there will NOT be a fall jam at wilmot this year. He said the decision was already made but he would talk to the managers and owners to see if they could squeeze it in.

ya dude same here i got in a big argument with him last year cuz he wuz caving a jump for a dumbass reason but he didnt recognize me and hoefully he isnt workin it this year thanks to the new crew

he isnt by any chance that guy who has the long hair and always wears the really big cowboy hat during the winter carnival?

that would be Tim. I guess i won't comment on any of this. Tim wanted to have the fall jam the same weekend as the Windy City Ski and snowboard show which would have been a terrible idea. I guess tim is soppesed to be my boss or one of the guys i have to work with.

has anyone looked up to see how far this rail jam is one i looked it was atleast 2 hours from racing.

ha, tim will be there and he will be working. he'll be your boss. don't know if he'll be grooming jumps and what not but he'll be there, messing up everything cause it's how it's supposed to be. from my years working there i don't think i ever saw him hit a jump and he's out there grooming them the "way they should be" ha.

I think I want to head down to this. I'll see if I can get any more Cascade locals to road trip down with me....

lol ya i know wut u mean bout the grooming

but, he prob wont be my boss cuz i actually applied for ski school which is what im doin but he said i can do park too lol

when i say tim will be my boss. I mean. I'm a Park Builder/Groomer and tim is in charge of the parks so that makes him the boss i would believe. there are a lot of hoops to jump out there. Technical i work for the graege

if its anything like last years wilmot jam ill pass, that was aweful

id rather have an ice rink sesh over at the ponds

I stopped riding wilmot around the same time barb quit grooming. She did a shitty job but at least she listened. Best feature at wilmot to this day was the Trap Rail with the huge take off she made.

i talked to the guy in charge, he said they want to get truckloads of snow everyday and start making a base on the hill, the week before the jam. and he also got a few up down benches, 2 smaller flat bars, a 18 foot double bar flat rail, and a super long box. and some more but i forgot. seems like it should be a good time. i know me and my lil bro are going and 2 friends.

is this at wilmot or what. i am too lazy to look and am really curious to see how this thing works. the post above mine sounds like it should be a fun time but i'm not sold yet.

give me details!! nom nom nom.

its not at wilmot. its at some park on the south side of chicago. so kind of a drive but owell im going either way. this might be more help.

ah my bad, I should have posted this awhile ago but ive been busy with school and shit. You have to sign a waiver and mail it back to the director guy before the jam. I think you might be able to bring it with as well. Email the director and he sends you a form via email. Im still planning on going I think

I hated highschool and the northshore, best thing i ever did was move out here to co. and kids from highland park can still lick my asshole. ;) hahaha, just kidding. Gaints blow?

does anyone know if we can just bring the forms with us? or do we really have to mail them to him in order to ride?

wow, i might not be able to make it, i have to do some training thing at viking on saturday sometime, damn but yay at the same time

i might be there, depending on what time the training at viking is, if not im gona be sad that i will wait have to wait to hit snow

The setup was pretty nice but simple. They had a really nice inrun ramp with alot of snow. They had a big flat box, one of the double barrel flat rails, and that shitty little up down box that wilmot built last season. It was pretty fun, there were a fair amount of skiers probly around 10, we had a fun jam and everyone threw down. Should be some photos at somepoint
