South park...

i didnt really laugh at all, its so clear that the public is all over her, and they really didnt make it that funny at all

Last night's episode was terrible. I remember where there was a time where you had to really think to find out what they were really talking about. Now it seems like the show is the dumb, immature show that everyone used to think it was before they watched the earlier seasons and analyzed the episodes.

I know a lot of people are thinking, "south park intelligent?" Just look at the ealier episodes probably from seasons 1 to 6 or 7. Read up on wikipedia all the subtleties about the episode and you'll be amazed at just how much irony, satire, and allegory there really are in the episodes.

Well it was terrible because Matt and Trey are trying to get there contract terminated if you have not heard.

/\ really? why's that?

Last night's episode was pretty disappointing. The lost head was just creepy and the jokes/plot weren't very funny at all.

uhh this episode could also be considered intelligent if you had any background in american literature.

the whole entire premise of the episode was loosely based on the american short story the lottery, where a girl was picked through a lottery to be sacrificed to ensure the villages' successful harvest.

i know dude, every show now always has such an obvious theme, at first they were hidden behind a funny episode, now there all about their stupid "intelligence" and every episode is so clear as to what it is, and now they exlude all of the other charicters i feel like, theyr never in the school anymore

That makes the episode even less funny. It's just a parallel of another story. It's not satirizing anything or trying to say anything other than we pay too much attention to stars and are killing them. South Park used to say the most intelligent things that noone ever thought of. That's why it used to be such a good show. It was always right about the topic and you had never thought of it in the way they presented it. Now they just say the most stupd, obvious shit ever in their episodes now.

If you thought that episode wasn't smart or funny then you haven't read The Lottery, if you have you would have realized that the entire episode was a allusion to the short story. The last scene where they kill Britney was fucking hilarious.

the thing that I like about south park is that it used to be absolutely hilarious, but with subtle social commentary woven in.

this season doesnt have that, it just doesnt make me laugh like it used to

yeah no shit thats what the episode is saying about us, they just made it extremely obvious that was what they were saying, the episodes used to never just say theyr message, this one was just so forced, obvious, and not funny

the funniest part was when they realized in the begining when they could get all the money like 100 grand or something, and Cartmen goes "Ah sweet, we can buy slaves with that money!"
