that was easily the worst episode i have ever seen.

how are they gonna make fun of gore becuase he strongly believes in solving global warming(manbearpig in the show)

they are so hipicritical i.e the future people episode how they portray the hick saying global warming doesnt exist ect, making him look like a complete moron.

"worst episode ever" (comic book guy)

exatly, it is funny when they are making fun of people that you dont agree with/like, but the second they make fun of someone that you like you get pissed off. The best part of the show is that they make fun of everyone, they dont single people out. And the hick saying that global warming is real was to show the igroance of people

I love South Park, I think my favorite is when they're cops and Cartman's like, "you must respect my authority..." And the Big Gay Al episode, and the STD episode - they're all so good.. don't hate man. they make fun of EVERYTHING.

I definitely do think that last season and this seasons episodes are starting to get a lot worse (and no, it's not because they picked on someone/something I liked). IMO season 7 and 8 were the best. If you notice though I think that southpark is one of the few series that actually got better as it progressed. At first it seemed just to be there for shock value for the first couple of seasons but then when it started to get really political and satirical it started to kick ass.

Also I think it's good that they pick on everyone. It really shows how hypocritical people can be. Everyone laughs their ass off when Republicans or Bush gets it but whenever they make fun of Liberals or something else that they like they cry like babies.

my friends is a liberal as it gets, and he thought todays epidoe was great when they ripped on gore. you need to relize taht its a sweeping generlization of characters onthat show, and it is meant purly for 'shock' value.

you just cant contest the fact that the gang is so funny by themselves. the episode realloy doesnt matter it just the voices and what they say, especially catman

i agree, mostly. i thought seasons 5 and 6 were the best. The progression and growth of the quality of southpark episodes through the years is somewhat of an anomoly in the television world.

The only thing i have noticed in the current season, especially, and perhaps a little bit before this, was the introduction of extremely personal viewpoints of the creators into the show. by extremely personal viewpoints, i mean the show is tackling issues that are particularly important to matt and trey. this is not necessarily a bad thing, however, some of my favorite episodes deal with issues that (hopefully) are not present in their lives (i.e. scott tennorman, chicken fucker, jewbilie)

the thing that continually impresses me about south park is the show's ability to show flaws in real situations by exaggerating them immensly on screen, such as the episode about the catholic priests' molestering of kids. a giant spider monster in charge of the church, far fetched to say the least. an allegory for the warped and out of touch leadership system of the religion, definately.

south park has been, and will continue to be one of the best television shows of our generation, on a purely humoristic level as well as a social commentary level. anyone who does not see the fairness and equity in which they bash social policy and norms regardless of race, religion, political affiliation, or any other beliefs is probally not getting the joke.

Listen im not hating on it because im some huge liberal and love al gore. quite frankly i know hardly anything about gore. but i just thought it was dumb they would attack the theory of global warming. it is real, its not some "wild goose chase". i would have still disagreed witht he episode if al gore had been some huge conservative. i jsut thought it was retarded to attack global warming, and the episode wass still not funny at all.

oh and if you dont know heres why they made fun of gore...

it was only ok. at some points it dragged

the scientology episode is still unbeatable. and last weeks episode where Towleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeele is totally lit and hes like "how spicy would you like your chang sauce" the morons their are always like that next time im there im gonna laugh so hard

Bahahha, they showed a clip of an atomic bomb going off and it's supposed to be for global warming hahaha.

Anyways, the guys at South Park aren't denying there is global warming, it's the basis at which people think why it's happening. Many believe that it's because of us and that we can stop harming the Earth's delicate ecosystem solving the problem but in reality we cannot. The Earth naturally goes through warming and cooling trends, it's been proven. Al Gore going up there and blaming Katrina, a very well placed storm that for years people knew was going to happen and cause massive destruction regardless of global warming, on global warming is just retarded. You cannot stop global warming, it's going to happen, it's the Earth's natural course of action.

if you go to south park for your political views somethings wrong.

i think Al Gore kicks ass and i cant wait for the new global warming movie to come out.

I also thought that episode was funny as shit. it was all about global warming and modern politics(big suprise).

also trey and matt are deeper than you guys are getting at. there was some cool stuff in that episode if you took a look below the surface.

what does cartman symbolize?

greed

what does he do when his world is going end? hoardes all the wealth he can(think people who want tax breaks when their children will have to pay for the deficit) what will all that treasure do when he dies anyway due to the cavern flood(global warming)?

jack shit. litteraly! the treasure turns into shit.

Then in matt and trey's view what does Al Gore do?

He whines and whines about the state we are in and tries to use it to his political advantage, while not doing anything usefull and appearing like a complete idiot.

i completely disagree with their views on Al Gore but i still thought the idea was funny.

Theres some other stuff too but i think that was mostly it.

anyway its certainly better than most tv shows and deserves the sucess its had.

SouthPark's popularity is in the fact that it appeals to such a large demographic. on one end of the spectrum, you've got ur 5th/6th graders or even younger who love it for all the cussing and potty mouth language.

at the other end of the spectrum are college kids and older who love it for addressing political issues, without much bias, just sayin it how it is, and creating humor out of it.

South Park is genious.

basically: Trey and Matt, along with their show, don't give a flying fuck. the fact that they're making millions off their show is quite inspiring.

chef quit because of the scientology episode.

while i'll admit that this episode was funny i personally think it was the weakest and shortest one of the season. dead cereal.

I don't care what the rest of your thought about the episode, when Cartman farted out that treasure I bust a gut laughing.

It was funny as hell. I agree with (most of) Gore's positions, but they were making fun of him and not those ideals.

And haha, gotta love Cartman.
