South Park or Family Guy

ohhh, definantley going with southpark, the episode: Ass-pen was pretty good

family guy should def make a skiing episode. you can't always count on getting a new episode of family guy with sports on fox and stuff
 
south park is awesome because of how fast they make fun of something. If something happens in the media south park will have an episode the next week. I like family guy better though. It makes me think more.
 
Southpark with out a doubt. Family guy is just joke after joke based on outrageous situations always doing the unexpected. That is it. There is very little point in family guy other than entertainment.

Southpark, though cruder in its humor, is critical of todays world. It isnt always as random. Just about all the new episodes are satire, very intellegently displayed on the telivision for us to consume. Not to mention they arnt, and never have been, afraid to go there.
 
personally two totally different shows, in family guy i can never imagine thinking of there ideas, therfore i would rather watch that
 
EXACTLY...family guy tends to go on rants off rants that really were never very funny....and southpark is just hilarious and often times based off current events

anyway southpark is too played and they are trashy, but family guy is just straight up funny
 
Family Guy is by far the funnier show. If you dont think Family Guy is satirical I dont know what your smoking, unless your too slow to pick up on the less obvious jokes, while South Park just makes obvious points that usually make no sence because they are too busy trying to make both sides happy. Alot of the time the points are just stupid like the one saying that the rainforest does more harm than good. That is redicoulus seeing that most medicines and many diffrent matereals can only be found there. That is just one example among many: The Terry Schivo one (how are the democrats right for the wrong reasons? Our reasons our reasons are the same as what they say the right reasons are . . . see how when they try and have it both ways it just gets confusing?)
 
south park all the way. i can watch south park non-stop for days without it ever getting boring but with family guy it just kinda loses its humour after you've seen the episode more than once.
 
the rainforest episode was one of the earlier ones, before southpark became a more of a social comentary.

And yes, Family guy has its satirical moments. But they come in the form of ramdom offshoots of the main plots, if you can call them plots. Very entertianing, yes. Good at getting a message across? Not so much. Southparks emphisis on social issues makes them much better at getting a message across to their audience.

Red hot catholic love, paris hilton, chickenpox, proper condom use, Cartmens increadible gift... Southpark is far more Didactic, while keeping the humor entact. Thats why I think its the better show.
 
family guy hands down. it is so much more clever and profound in its jokes than south park. south park makes fart jokes or other humor that appeals to the immature, while the jokes in family guy require some knowledge if you're going to get them all.
 
When had South Park ever made an important socal comentart? Was it the one where they crap out their mouths or maby the one where they jerk off a dog, oh no I have it! It was the one with the talking poop.

I watch comedy shows to make me laugh and to be entertained, if you are getting your "social comentary" from South Park you really need to have a look at your prioreties. Try watching the news, or if you want your opinions to be force fed instead of forging your own, watch one of the many pundit shows from the fine people at Fox.
 
naw dude southpark has way bigger deeper messages and is more of a creative satire, where as family gay is funny, but for the most part is immature stupid shit, like when peter beats down that chicken for like 5 mins
 
Family Guy's humor lies in the fact that it is random and sophisticated at the same time. On South Park the jokes are predictable and rarely anything more than immarture fart jokes. Most of the time people dont like Family Guys because 75% of the jokes are over their heads.
 
I prefer Family Guy over south Park because its alot funnier. Not saying that South Park sucks or anything, but its not as good.
 
id have troubles picking a favorite. south park is funny cause they swear alot and are rude as fuck. family guy everything is jokes and random stuff that makes me laugh. so i dont know
 
south park is so funny because they burn every celebrity out there, and it never stops making me laugh, and it has 1 of a kind animation

family guy is like my second favorite show, its hilarious because its so fucking random
 
Family Guy, because you just couldnt have a fire engine mock the discovery channel anywhere else.

the ambulances will have to wait their turn...

family guys easy!!! way more subttle which makes it shitloads funnier. south park i still hilarous though
 
South park is better just because it actually has a plot that makes sense. Family Guy is a very close second but only because the plot just really isn't as strong.
 
I'm with apple on this, South park is funnier because it's based around real issues, Family guy is hilarious as well but a lot of it is just random/slapstick comedy.

I think that some of the characters in Family guy are better though, they seem to be more human, you get to know them a bit better.

I don't get the full immediacy of South parks satire because I tend to download them a while after they come out, but I apreciate it just as much as if it was the week after it happened. Loved the Douche and Turd sandwich episode around the time of your election so much.

As for South Park confusing issues by representing both sides of the argument, they're just ripping it out of anyone who takes themselves or their politics too seriously, quite often that can be people on either side of the spectrum.
 
im gonna have to go with family guy on this one its just funnier i think...it has a balance of random jokes and more sophisticated jokes....not bashing on south park tho..haha like the one where the dads fight in the stands.....i thought the america!
 
there both excellent but family guy sometimes has random shit that isnt that funny, so im goin with South park
