South lake and Resorts

I'm moving down to the tahoe area (south lake) and was wondering how the athmosphere is there (I've heard it's super bro-bra, true or no?)and which resort has the best parks and etc. I've only been to sierra, and will probably be at Heavenly, have you heard how that is? Thanks.

Not a huge fan of Heavenly. It can get pretty busy and the snow is usually not the greatest compared to the other resorts. However, they do have some nice tree skiing on the Nevada side. I'm usually at kirkwood, Alpine, or Squaw. Those resorts usually get more snow, have better terrain in my opinion, and usually have less crowds (except Squaw). Hope this helps.

kirkwood is dope for freeriding, i think ill e heading to sierra at tahoe for park, last year it was fun. BUt if you amke the drive to squaw, the park goes off, late

don't get lackety

I've lived in south shore my whole life and I think the atmosphere is pretty chill. the last couple of years has changed the area a lot since they built the new gondola and put in popular businesses like starbucks and jamba juice, it killed a lot of the local businesses. unfortunately it has attracted a lot more tourists to the area and heavenly. i still love it though.

I rode Heavenly last year. I didn't really like it. The mountain is pretty sick, but they just don't get the snow. I'd say they get 2/3 the snow other places get. They also don't favor their season pass holders. They won't open the lifts during good conditions if the big tourist days are coming up. Ride Sierra. They get about 420' of snow and have six parks w/ two pipes. The southlake scene is really chill though.
