South Bay to Mountain High?

This is just a general opinion kind of thing... I'm moving to Southern Cali in the next month or two, probably in the south bay area. Is Mountain High my best move as far as getting a season pass? I'm looking for park skiing without driving too far.

Baldy has no park so that's out. Options are Mt High or Bear. However long Mt. High takes you, Bear will take an extra hour. But Bear is better and you can hit two different resorts with the same lift ticket. I do Mt High, because it is so close I can go before/after work, just for a few hours, and its not that big of a deal. But Bear is certainly better.

I had a Bear pass My first year in College and rode there occasionally every year after. Bear has much better jumps then High. I did not like that most jibs were ride on there(I do not know now; i have not lived there in a coupe years) but I had a Mt High pass every year after that while in school. They have night skiing, their pass is inexpensive, and that is where most people go to ride. I only rode mid week because weekends are like going to disneyland. My last few years of college I almost never had to drive because i could always find someone who wanted to go. They have a decent park and it is very close. Bear passes usually have blackout dates which is a pain in the a$$. Bear's season is longer but if i still lived down south i would buy a Mt High pass.

Yeah that is all true, just wanted to say that Mt High isn't completely pointless on the weekends anymore because they put a bunch of jumps and a handful of jibs on East resort and it still doesn't get that crowded. West resort though.....my god. Don't even both on the weekends.

The first year they put jumps on East I all but stopped going to West. Really nice 35 foot jumps, like 10 in a row, and nobody realized they were there. It was awesome, like my own personal jump line.

Southbay like San Jose? just go to Tahoe. Then you have tons of options. if you just want a cheap pass where you can ride park all day get a boreal pass. they're open 9am-9pm every day and they've got good college deals. the place is small but they cram a ton of features on that little mountain
