Soul plates on skis

Hey all u skiers, i've made and patented the ultimate soul plate for skis, the oatent office have agreed to patent it and confirmation will be with me in a few days i will then post them on the internet!!!!!!!!!!

 
besides they wouldnt work because it would be too hard to bring your other ski on to make a variation grind.

I was about to say that, Phrosty beat me to it. I just don't get how a soul plate could benefit skiing in anyway. They're worthless, you can slide rails without em.

i think it would be pretty damn hard and it is kind of following frootbooters. Ill give em a chance but im not expecting much

 
I agree, it would be pretty hard to do souls with skis, with the side cut and all.

What would be good is a royal plate on your boot...

To whoever said something about frootbooters; 50% of new school jibs either comes, has been done before or has been influence by rollerblading... get use to it ; )

 
Ive seen some of the new vids and mags... skiers are doing 50/50 grinds and shit without soulgrind plates... which makes it way harder.. way cooler and way more impressive. There is no point to making such a product.. unless you are trying to appeal to little kids who dont have the balls to try grinding without it.

yeah you like couldn't get on your edges at all. you have to like turn by swiping your skis back and forth and....gay. but if there is some trick, that'd be sweet.

i think he's talking about sole plates (plates that hang off the side) not normal grind plates that go under your boot.

well this guy is a mate takn the piss, but am makin them and they actually have grindplates, so you can lock on to royales and farvenugens. it should be great, as they do work...

some of you don't seem to under stand. Souls are something that comes from in-line. It's where you slide a rail or grind with the long underside of your boot, not the wheel frame. Someone mentioned 50/50, that would translate from skateboarding and snowboarding into the frontsides and backsides that you do on skis. the soul grind has you goin with one ski parallel to the rail...which on skis in kinda really hard and awkward. even a little awkward on short skiboards. so yeah...we've got no idea what that guy's talkin about that could be of any use...technical, or style wise.

 
i don;t understand how skateboarding can relate to skiing at all, it's COMPLETELY different, so basically, anyone who calls one of those one foo thingys a '50-50' is wrong, nothing in skiing is at all like skateboarding, or snowboarding, people took tricks from snowbaording to skiis, but skiing is still more like 'agressive skating', it's just the way it is, the style isn't the same, but skiing is still a ton like 'agressive skating'...deny it all you want, but it's the truth

skiing is not rollerblading, skiing is not snowboarding, skiing is not skating, skiing is not surfing. Trying to compare it to one single sport is stupid and pointless, skiing is its own sport unlike anything else. We incorporate style and maneouveours from all these sports, but it doesnt make skiing like one single sport, it just makes skiing more unique. For me I do not want to see grinding on skis to develop into something where there is a million tiny variations where the only difference is a funny bend in your ankle, rather I want to see more smoothness and progression on the grinds you can do on skis naturally.

(trust me, the '' things aren't actually there)

if we had soul plates on skis it could only progress the sport, not set it back. give the guy a chance, if i see some nice makios or something, ill probably buy some.

 
yeah totally- it would only help the sport and make new tricks

but you couldn't turn! these things would be sticking out of your skis.
