so im reviewing for sat pssa and i cant find out how to do this

1 given the equations below, what is the value of b?

-7a + b/4 = 25

b + a = 13

i keep getting -9.30 something but the answer is supposed to be 16...

please help!

since you want to know what B is, but you said it's supposed to be 16....what do you want to know?

do you wanna know how to solve for B or what?

a + b = 13

a = 13 - b

-7(13-b) + b/4 = 25

-91+7b+(b/4) = 25

7.25b = 116

116/7.25 = 16 = b
