Wayyyy to stoked to care that this is gonna get a whole bunch of cool story bro comments. i like to imagine i keep my number of pointless threads to a minimum so this shouldnt be a major violation.

BUT ANYWAY....

Just got hired to work at a summer camp with my 2 best friends on mount desert island (off the coast of maine) for the summer. Heres the stoked part. First off, im 17.. so im still in highschool, in 11th grade, and my parents are trusting me to rent a house with my 2 friends and live in bass harbor all summer by ourselves. My friend lived there last year so we can rent the place again and the renter doesnt mind. For those of you who dont know, MDI is the largest vacation destination in maine, so there will be a shitload going on all summer over in bar harbor and what not.

IN SUMMARY im going to be living by myself for 3 months on a vacation island working at a camp with my friends and renting a house to live it up all summer. Got friends down on the island, and will be able to sail in the harbor, climb, camp, hike, paddle, and arty it up.

I think this is an acceptable level of stoke for a kid in his junior year of highschool who has just been told he can be a grown fucking man for 3 months. sooo stoked.
 
Similar thing is happening to me! Parents okay-ed me going to Vienna for a month on my own (I'm 17) to stay in residence with other kids my age and take an easy German course. Needless to say I will be enjoying myself immensely with German beer and Austrian boys. Can't fucking wait.
 
Its just a day camp for kids 6-15 i think, your average outdoor summer camp. arts and crafts, sports, waterfront stuff, boating, ropes course, ya know, the works. Probably gonna be working a lot down on the water since i have a bunch of paddling experience. just a day job, and get saturdays off. My friend has worked there for 2 years (hes a senior) and told us that they were hiring and we could rent this house with him. Its right in the harbor, overlooking the ocean (biddies love ocean front). However, im not rich, so im gonna be putting a lot of my paycheck into rent. sooo worth it however.
 
Nice I'm from so Maine. Just bought some hockey sticks from a kid in Bangor hooked it up too. Enjoy our fair coast lol
 
fuck yea dude MDI is the shit. my family has a house in Hulls Cove, right after you get on the island. it's the oldest house on MDI. i've been going there pretty much every summer since i was born. if i'm up there this summer we should climb/party/etc. i know a pretty fun cliff jumping spot too.
 
Word man. Ill be renting a house in Bass Harbor with some friends, and will deffinetly be looking for fun stuff to do all day every day. I know there are a bunch of sweet climbing spots, and know of a couple of good cliff jumps. some are nuts. One of the guys who lived in the house last year sent a cliff down near thunder hole. crazy stuff.

fuck yeah, MDI is beautiful. one of my favorite spots ever. and working at a summer camp is the best. you're going to have the time of your life. this thread got me more pumped on my own summer coming up at a camp in maine. wooooooo
