What format should I render my 720p t2i footage in(.mov)I tried .MP4 and no audio came out. Open to any suggestions.

Yup this... you will keep the most quality this way.

Learn to do all custom rendering. I use wmv. but others are good too. Go to custom and you can start with the 720 6mbps template. Then change the Bit rate and Fps to whatever you want.
