SONY VEGAS OR FINAL CUT

i have been wondering for a while about wich editing program is better, final cut pro or Sony Vegas pro. Wich one is better for editing action films such as, skateboarding, snowboarding, skiing. And which one is better for editing small home made films; as in indie films? plz help me out and put your opinion or fact.

I have used FCP7 and it is pretty easy to work with, Sony Vegas is good, but i would lean towards FCP7

I have a pc, and i have Sony Vegas pro 8 that is perfect for ecerything i need it for, my freind has a mac with final cut pro and we always debate about it. I just wanted to see waht the ns's opinion was

well if you dont have a mac then you cant use fcp......

but i use sony vegas and i love it

FCP is much more capable than vegas.

Ive had both and vegas is still good for most editing FCP is also better because it comes with a whole wack of other programs

i own a pc and have sony vegas pro 9 and i really like it. its a simple concept while you can still make pretty decent videos. my buddy has FCP and it looks confusing as fuck. im sure once you learn to work with it then it would be simple.

i use vegas and its sweet. its also easy to find plugins and free fx online. most effects are also easy to generate and make look good.

the only problem is i cant seem to run the quicktimes mp4s? that the gopro produces. the vegas just doesnt like it. ive tried changing files and stuff, but im only so knowledgeable.
