so i asked this in a thread but got no response, so i was hoping i cound be enlightened.. I'm just starting to learn Sony Vegas 9.0 plat. and i can't figure out how to overlap video (like two shots, shot with the camera in the same position, and put them as one). I don't understand the video overlay line and when i crop just one moving figure, it just makes it what i cropped, but larger.. i'm lost with their "help" section so i came to you. dishin out K for the one's who reply.

I was thinking you could put all the videos you want overlayed on different video tracks and then mask around each object in each track that you want to be in the actual video. Kind of like making a sequence in photoshop, except keyframing the mask over the moving objects.

Heres a tutorial on masking that will help:

i always do it with two video tracks, drop the opaciy to 50% on both tracks, and there it goes.......works like magic
