Sony PMB Help?

Hey guys, so I just bought a Sony HDR CX110, and it came with this software called PMB. As far as I can tell, this software is kind of pointless, all I can do is trim the video, and it won't even let me access it on my computer. Whenever I try to save it somewhere else, it says video cannot be resized, and i can't do anything. I read the manual and googled and shit, so if it's a repost forgive me. Help please?

Ya pmb is pretty pointless. what I used to go is put all my videos on there then I would trim the clips on there instead of on the editing program (huge waste of time) now with my new camera and computer (sony hdr cx550v) I don't even bother. It's just a program that lets you download videos and pictures to look over them and store them. thats all i have to say sorry if that didn't help

Thanks man, but is there away to save the clips somewhere else? It only lets me put them on PMB and the only way I can get them off is by converting them, which makes the quality alot worse.

It's hard to remember what exactly I did, but I believe I uploaded them to pmb then copy/dragged all the videos into "my videos" folder ( like how you have documents, photos, videos, downloads) then on the editing program I took them from there. I now use a mac and just upload them to Imovie then import them onto final cut. I'm not sure why you have to convert them though? I'm thinking pmb doesn't support avchd files?

I hope someone sees this thread and is more of a help but try what I did that might work?

I did that but when I drag it in to a folder, it just comes up as a blank file( like one your computer can't read) and it wont let me play it with any program, it says its an M2TS file? Thanks alot for the help though man, I appreciate it

Alrigt so I have pmb for my Sony point and shoot and I'm gunna assume they're similar. Basically, pmb is just used to view your photos/videos, and isn't really made for trimming even though I guess that is part of the program. You also have to understand that he files aren't stored in pmb. They're on your hdd somewhere - so you don't have to "get them off" pmb if you want to use them elsewhere - just locate the source file. Sorry of something doesn't make sense - I typed this with my iPod.

Any idea where they would be? I reinstalled it to see if I could find where they were going but still nothing.

I'm not sure if you have the same PMB as me, but for mine, you can go to File > Media File Import Settings > Location For Imported Media Files... and when you click that, it should show you where your imported pictures/videos and stuff are.

Ok I was able to find the location but it won't play the file on my computer, it's an M2TS file and I can't open it with media player or anything does yours do this?

It's because it's probably because it isn't supported by Movie Maker if that's what you're using... Try Vegas or Premiere.
