Hey guys, ive decided on getting a sony a6000 and now im just shopping around for the best proce. Best Buy has a kit with a 16-50mm and a 55-200mm lense for 850, and we have a 100$ gift card I was just wondering if this is a good deal or should I keep looking.

Also I expect to be using the longer lense pretty frequently so if I went for a kit without it I'd endd up buying one later on. Thanks!

I did a quick little search on eBay and i found a really nice a6000 with 2 batteries for $429 obo. If you can spend $850 you might even be able to get a nice used a6300, but I'd say get the $429 a6000 and then spend the rest of your money on nicer lenses

I would go the ebay route. It took me awhile but i got mine for 470$ with the 16-50. More than likely you could save that extra 400 for better glass or gear

I've been looking at a similar kit for this camera. Amazon also has a bunch of bundles with the same 16-50 and 55-200 lenses with batteries, tripods, etc.

Are these generic lenses not very good? Anyone have any details/specs on them? What is a better alternative to the stock 55-200mm lens?

So i was looking at lense options at best buy just because i have over $100 in gift cards there and to buy the 16-50 and 55-200 lenses individually would be around $600 compared to $350 if you get them in a bundle(subtracting price of body only from the bundle price)... I'm also curious about what is better about buying the lenses indivually to justify an extra $250
