Sony 18-200 VS Tamron 70-200

Whatsup Ns,

Through an amazing stroke of look I recently got an FS700 (with the sony 18-200 kit lens). I posted a thread asking about external recorders, but honestly I think I should invest in lenses.

I was thinking about the tamron 70-200 with a metabones speed booster. I was wondering if it would even be worth it to get the 70-200, because the sony 18-200 is already pretty good and has image stabilization. Obviously the 70-200 with the speed booster would be superior in low light situations (which I find myself in a lot)

I really enjoyed the sony 18-200 when I had an fs100 and the newer one with the servo zoom is dope as well. I'd say invest in wide glass (tokina 11-16 and rokinon 8mm) and a fast mid range zoom.

I like the 18-200 a lot so far. However, I was filming a concert at night as the "master shot" directly in front of the stage probably 50 feet out. Because I had to zoom quite a bit to get a tight shot, my aperture was forced to be at 5, and I got some under exposed shots. I was thinking a 70-200 would be a good alternate for lower light situations.

What medium range fast zoom would you recommend?I was under the impression that an 11-16 with an adaptor on an fs700 would crop it so that you can only use the lens at a 16mm focal length. If I'm going to spend a lot of many I want a more versatile lens than just 16mm, might as well get a prime at that point

Honestly, at f5 you could shoot 6400iso but i get what you're saying.

As for wide, it would only crop if you bought a speed booster. I don't think canon is the right option unless you already have canon lenses, nikon/native lenses are much easier to work with.

care to elaborate?

At least for the model I had (I now shoot on a Canon 70-200) If you want to focus on something, then click it to manual to stay at that focus point, you use the entire focus ring to click it into manual. (compared to Canon where it is just a button on the side of the lens) When you click it into mania (using the focus ring) it changes the focus. They may have changed that now with a newer model, I am not sure.
