Songs that a GOOD Ski Edit Needs to be Made to

No one else is allowed to use this...because I want to. But Bridges by Erthlings would make for an insane closing pow/big mountain segment

Alright. Here's a compiled list of songs that would work great in pow/big mountain and even rail/urban segments. A lot of indie/ pop/rock in no particular order. If you like any of it DM me and i'll hit you up with playlists.

Alter Ego-Tame Impala

Bloodflood pt.II- Alt J

The Mall & Misery- Broken Bells

Julia- Jungle

Tidal Wave-Interpol

Sundown Syndrome-Tame Impala

Paint me Silver- Pond

Mesmerise- Temple

Hush- Magic City Hippies

Easy Money- Westerman

Monster- ALASKALASKA

Bridges-Erthlings

When you're bored- Joywave

Eye in the sky-Alan Parsons Project

Polish Girl- Neon Indian

The Other Side of Paradise- Glass Animals

Lydia- Chastity Belt

Windows- Sugar Candy Mountain

Trying to throw some variety:

Pow Pillow Lines: Stick Figure- Above the Storm

Big Mtn Stomping- Waylon Jennings "Aint Living long like this"

Slo-Mo Park Edit- Notorious B.I.G. vs. Flume - Ezra's Limit

Urban Edit- Hilltop Hoods- The Sentinel

General all-time favorite song to rip to: Pretty Lights- Who Loves Me

Beastie Boys - take your pick, most would work

Also in a different slower more indie vibe, Blue Ridge Mountains by Fleet Foxes may work with the right shots

Cocaine..

Also, there new single sounds different so that's new

Yeeee

And yeah I agree it's really cool how they've developped different sound with some of their newer singles. I find some punk bands struggle with having too much consistency, like where all their songs sound the same. But they've been able to come up with some super good creative shit. Pre epic

Who gives a fuck if you put gangster rap in a ski edit, the music is there because the heavy beats sync well with stomped landings and make for good fast paced edits. Just because it's in a video doesn't mean I act like I'm black or stand on the corner slanging dope. Shoutout to Ian and the few others who actually understood this concept

Exactly, the right music goes with the right video. Like when Ian uses Playboi Carti songs in his edits. Carti's music is perfect for fast paced and fun edits like that in my opinion since the beats go well and it isn't too serious. Some rap doesn't match the video at all and is way too hard for the skiing on the other hand.

Also shoutout to everyone on this thread who put me on a bunch of good music.

you’re thinking of a different Ian, @yung jimmy was replying to me based off an exchange on the first page, but yea I agree Ian King’s skiing flows quite well with more lighthearted music like that

the key to this thread is originality, rehashing the same shit gets old quick

pretty lil' foot - rising appalachia and the human experience.

someone may have already used this because it sounds really familiar. would be an unreal pow segment though.

love love love that this gem is appreciated, thanks for reminding us of it. Easily my favorite Bunch edit and also just one of my favorites ever like you said

I used “Grown Ocean” in a PC closing week edit a few years ago and have had my eye on another unused Fleet Foxes track for a lil while now, can’t wait to edit to it this season hopefully

Soulful Strut by Young and Holt unlimited would be great for a slo-mo pow edit. It would definitely fit in to a burlapz video.

I've always thought this would be incredible for one of those late-season-irresponsibly-huge-jump edits. Huge track with a ton of energy

Song would be cheap af becauee they never got big but has a decent bibe for some cruisey slowmo shots imo.

I actually found this song out of an edit I saw recently. Can't remember for the life of me what it was... Maybe it was claim?

MF DOOM - Cellz

When the beat drops @ 1:45 it makes me want to light my hair on fire and hatefuck the mountain.

Would be cool for a short clip of some greazy urban

On that note, Tired by Sugar Candy Mountain is def going into a project this season.

666 from the same album? Could do well with some cut of floaty surfy pow, but Tired as well!

I've also always imagine T Hall releasing some fucked up edit with You Can't Teach an Old Dog New Tricks by Seasick Steve pumping behind him
