The ski movie industry is getting notorious for taking songs and vibes from snowboard and skate movies. I just wanna see what songs everyone has found that were used in ski movies, that were used in snowboard or skate (or even other ski movies) first.

Mine so far:

THE SCANNERS

Trailer: Ill be your johnny on the spot, taken from peter line in the resistance

Intro: Magic carpet ride, taken from the happy dayz trailer

2nd seg: Bad reputation by joan jett, in the resistance (forget whos part)

3rd seg: Love will tear us apart by joy division, mark johnston in ya right

Made an exact copy of the mid part in Ya right

NASM Trailer: mark appleyard in sorry

X- abma uses Le tigre - my my metrocard which was used a year earlier in the penguinmilk speshul trailer

High Five- Trippin’ by Zion I is found in the mountain bike movie 'The collective' Which was released 7 months prior

Yearbook - Used saccharine by good riddance which was in chrightons seg in RFA (ouch)

Fingerpaint by zion I is in both soul purpose and High five (coincidence i think)

RFA- used billy idol's dancing with myself which was in the LAME trailer, which was released long before ready fire aim

RFA also used 'get by' by talib kweli which is in Ya right

Happy dayz used dialated peoples worst comes to worst which was used in Clockwork

Ski Movie III and the Prophecy also used the same song by the Neptunes, Rockstar. And Mr. Brown by Styles of Beyond is in High Five and First Light.

The skate movie 'Rodney Mulles Vs. Daewon Song Round 2' used 'clubbed to death' by Rob D and 'Tech 9' by style of beyond in 1242 and Breathe and stop. 'glass dance' by the faint in Blunt was used a year later in 'Video Gangs'

Prophecy defintly takes the cake though... It uses the N.E.R.D song from Ski movie 3, 'blowing trees' by nappy roots from strike 3, and the Cirrus song used for the Norway trip again from ski movie 3.

Not claiming anyone stole anything, but I thought the Song Police better investigate.

Saccharine by good riddance was also used in Happy Dayz. 3 SKI movies with the same song. Sad.

I think somebody mentioned it already but Get By by Talib was used in Seth Morrison Chronicles.

And The Pixies-Where is my mind seems to be popping up everywhere.

why does it matter, if it fits it doesnt matter. some time or another there will be no more good 'original' songs so you are going to have to repeat ones. i dont think it should matter as long as the song goes with the segment.

^it matters because it hurts the movie/segment if it has the same song as another movie you have seen. It seems like they didn't spend alot of time searching for that perfect song, instead they were lazy and went for the song thats been used. It's like a game of twister and you stay on the same colour.. its non progressive.

there's plenty of songs that haven't been used. if i were making a ski movie i would want new songs that gave the section a more individual vibe to it. plus it's a chance to give lesser-known bands publicity. why would you copy a song from another movie when you can help give publicity to another band you like, while introducing your 'audience' to a new kind of music/a new band?

 
if mickaels song in 1242 is from the dc video, the matchstick people have stolen so many...i just can't remember from where.
