I would like to know how old you are, and why NS seems to think that age limits knowledge. And judging by your sarcasm in your posts you are either also 14 or a really stupid 20+ year old.

she had mental illnesses, so does just about everyone who has been "possessed". my psych professor just went over possessions and how it's always in a mentally ill person and how parts of the brain will make you go ape shit like the girl in the youtube video. possessions, just like everything else, can be explained by science. this girl should've been taken to a hospital, not fucked around with by priests
 
why wouldn't it be. I hate to say this but religious people need to get their heads out of theirs asses. Like sit back and think about some of the things they say (not singling you out) and how stupid it is in the real world. I know you have the right to believe what you want but goddamn some of the things they say are just moronic.
 
i was thinking in the broader sense that we shouldn't take our professors/teachers words as truth/gospel. think for yourself and study ideas contrary to your professors. then make your own conclusions. think critically for yourself, not to think the same as someone else.

STOP TRYING TO MAKE THEORIES SOUND AS FACT, THEY ARE ONLY THEORIES. DONT MAKE OUT THE THEORIES YOU BELIEVE IN TO BE THE TRUTH AND OTHER THEORIES FALSE. PROVE TO ME WITH SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE THERE WAS ONCE LIFE ON MARS AND/OR THE WORLD WAS CREATED BY THE BIG BANG. you cant, for they are theories.

what he is trying to prove is which of these theories is more rational.. (a guy who lives in the middle of the earth is controlling her, or a mental illness is effecting her)

he doesn't need to prove anything. deciding which theory is more rational should use common sense, unless you're a bias religious fuck. and that doesn't take away from the fact hes still trying to make one theory look right and the other wrong.

see, a religious person could say the same thing about someone like you, they think the big bang and other theories are completely ridiculous, and those atheists need to get their head out of their asses and and think about the things say and how stupid it is in the real world..

they never found shit. they havent found anything on mars besides water that is a solid that goes straight to vapor similar to dry ice on our planet. Mars has no flowing liquid after the planet cooled down and lost its atmosphere, all forms of liquid on that planet besides a thin layer of water less than a mm thick that MAY be present between rusty dirt and thick martian ice go straight from a solid state into gas state while skipping the liquid states due to extreme cold... The polar ice caps on mars are made from frozen co2, which means its really fucking cold on mars except for a period of 2 months along the equator. They dont even know if amino acid is on mars, let alone a form of life that can form protein. The only martian robot that has a chance of discovering if proteins are present on mars is still in its fetal stages of creation and will not launch for around a decade, if you care to know for yourself the robot is called curiosity. If you claim something, atleast have some where with all to defend yourself.

if life was found on mars, it would be the biggest news the world has ever known. It would be common knowledge in homes across the planet. The simple fact that you so firmly stand behind science but yet you clearly dont have a full grasp on basic things such as "life in our solar system" leads me to believe you are some sort of pseudo science buff in your mind whilst not having the knowledge base to back up your spouting. The fact you claim the big bang theory as pure fact is laughable as well because there is a fair amount of cosmologist in the world who do not believe this a correct theory. How about the recent revision to the theory of relativity in the last year that was discovered by a 14 year old boy? The greatest mind in science and the sole creator of the "universal laws of physics" has his entire life's work called into question by a 14 year old child. The fact of the matter is that theory is never a proven thing because its not real, its a thought process not a material thing. The most well supported theory in the history of man is evolution which is almost universally accepted as the correct method of life's history on this planet is still regarded as just a theory because there is simply no way to prove it.

I am a very science based person and i believe in evolution and the formation of the universe yet i created this thread for intelligent conversation not the humdrum standard " the devil is a figment of imagination " bullshit that seems to be shouted out by every 14 year old child here. Once in a thread is enough, thanks.

If you want me to rip you apart intellectually more i will be glad to do it.
 
Let me correct you on a few things that you clearly seemed to have missed by reading my posts.

1. I did NOT claim the big bang as fact, I was trying to compare the realism of the big bang to one that an supreme being created the planets.So there is where you made your first mistake.

2. A meteorite landed in Antarctica 13,000 years ago that was presumed to be from Mars after its initial creation. Inside that meteorite they found fossilized bacteria. Scientists initially thought that it was bacteria from Earth that entered the fossil but now believe that the bacteria actually originated from Mars. http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/planetary/marslife.html

3. I couldn't give a fuck if you are intellectually superior to me. You probably are. And as for tearing me apart...I don't think so.

I realize that people have varying opinions about whether God exists are not. I'm asking people to think rationally about what is more possible, a mysterious man in the sky that created earth, or asteroids colliding while in orbit of the sun generating a molten core and stemming life. Seriously nut your beliefs aside and think about it, whats more feasible. I'm not saying any of it is fact, I'm trying to put things in perspective. You should stop getting so bent out of shape over it. It's an opinion, chill out...

I like how religious people think like children. cant explain something out of logic since they dont posess this knowledge, therefore it must be god and she must be posessed.

it wouldnt because so many people are butthurt that a lot of stuff isnt how they want it to be.

just thinking that we are something special doesnt show true believe, but true arrogance and haughtiness considering the fact that there are a quadrillion planets out there.
 
from a completely neutral stance on science vs religion, I would see both sides making about the same amount of sense. a magical man in the sky creating everything, or a ball of infinite mass that somehow came from nowhere suddenly exploding and creating life billions of years later. im not neutral, i lean more to the science side, but i realize that we really dont know shit, we will never be anywhere close to knowing how the universe formed, and when you realize all the possibilities for things that we cant even think about comprehending. you also realize how science is pretty much as faith based as religion. both are pretty good explanations for what we know IMO.
 
i agree, ''possession'' is just another dumb religious thing. I am not religious at all but I still respect other people opinion because we can all believe what we want. the only problem is when you hurt someone or even yourself because of "religion".
 
I completely understand what you are saying. Im saying more of a god created earth vs. what really happened, not how the universe was created.
 
not suprised this turned into a science vs. religion thread.... but anyways i was going through the guide and this show called Exorcists: The True Story on planet green is on right now and it made me think of this thread if anyone wants to check it out.
