Something that pisses me off

NOT TO HATE ON THE NEWSCHOOLERS COMMUNITY

but....

I cant stand kids who think they are the shit in the BC with hellbents and can even traverse on them while skinning same thing with EP pros or any other ridiculously big ski that is ment for one single purpose skiing a wide open bowl. the reason is because i went for a tour this weekend with my dad near a basin and we passed 5 kids that all had the sickest heliskiing setups i have seen in the BC. one kid had hellbents the other ep pros the other Solomon the rocker and the last on had volkl sumos all of these skis are amazing heli ski powder skis not BC skis and the last kid teled (like me) and had G3 Baron a ski that is 81 at the waist. so my point is that these huge fat skis do nothing good when skiing a chute or coulior and alot of the newschoolers community is skiing these and pretty much making them selves worse skiers.

think about it some guys at alta back in the 80's skied 220's that have a 60 mm waist and they ski powder better than any kids do today

sorry for the rant

agreed....it doesnt really piss me off but if someone thinks they "need" a wide ski for pow they are retarded..sure it makes it less effortless but you dont need them nesisarily..

what are you skiing on!?! hehe i do backcountry pow with my brother exactly like u a giant traverse and we skied knee deep and i have my juvy's with 70cm underfoot...

I think a big thing with the skies those kids were riding is that have more of a freestyle geometry, so to get them to float in pow they have a wider underfoot dimension. Having 100mm+ also helps for stomping huge BC booters or the landing is ghetto.

I ski Anthems that are "meant" to be more of a park ski but they have 93mm underboot, and they preform fine in pow and ice, they just don't engage as quick because they are softer.

fat skis make pow skiing waaaaaayyyy more fun. yes its possible to ski waist deep with 70mm under foot. but y would u want to do that if u have access to a fat ski. if u dont and ski pow 90% of the time. i would suggest investing into a pair.

hha i know what you mean... it makes me quite jealous of those kids too... but you dont need to be mad about it... im sure any skier who knows anything would just laugh at kids skiing on those when they dont need to... so dont even worry

you should try fat ones if you get a chance tho....
its awesome...
cuz when your in like waist deep powder on a pair of hellbents... its not skiing, its something totally different, they just havnt figured out a name for how much fun you have haa

ya im investing into a pow ski next year cause their fun, great skis and why not get one is ur skiing some pow!

um...so I ski my hellbents in the park. what the fuck now?

seriously, who cares. they have the money to buy them, let them buy them. it's their money and their choice. plus it's definitely worth it, makes pow skiing that much more enjoyable.

dude i fuckin tele so its differnt and i have ridden fat skis such as the hell bents mounted with tele and i just wasnt feeling it and i dont have a one ski quiver i have a big mountain ski and a park ski as well as a bc ski but i am not hatin on kids for skiing fat skis i am saying that some kids laughed at me for skiing on my G3 skis that are like 93 underfoot in deep shit and it was fine

In all honesty, this thread is stupid. You just wrote about why other people's skis make you angry. Get over it. And use punctuation.
