Something is up with my boots

So I went skiing today for the first time in my full tilt drop kicks in the black and white color way. I bought them used off of a member here. I need a 28.5 for my boots. Long story short my feet hurt so I ended up skiing with no socks on. Really kinda hurt I don't suggest doing it. I was cleaning my gear and noticed the my liner is for size 27.5 and the shock absorbers are 27.5. I do have tongues though that are good for 9-10.5 so I switched out the tongues. I looked on the boot and I couldn't find a size for the boot. I know that full tilt is very customizable and I though I heard that while looking for boots that the shells would be 28.5 the liners would just be 27.5. Do I need different boots or a different liner? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm new to the skiing. I appreciate the help!

go to a boot fitter. i often find smaller boots perform better but until you're used to wearing small boots they hurt a fuck load. i am a boot fitter myself and if you want to talk about this further message me and we can chat

You bought used boots that have been shaped and molded to another persons foot. FTs have a full custom intuition liner that molds, usually with the help of shop heating it in a oven, to the wearers foot. It doubtful that you and the old owners foot were the same. Not to mention you probably have no footbeds in them. You arch is collapsing and your foot is pronating taking up a lot of volume in the boot. Also FT sizing is/used to be different than most other companies, for instance, a 28/28.5 in FT has a bsl of 318 if my memory serves me. In almost every other company a 318bsl is a 27/27.5. That could have been updated in the past seasons since Ive been out of the FT game for a while.

You can tell the shell size by taking bsl and subtracting 40 and divide by 10, this will get you close to the size. Also all the previous advice is good to solve your problem
