of all the actors in the world they could have chosen for trinity, they had to chose some ugly lady who looks like shes 40 years old. I mean, if they are gonna make a 5 minute sex seen in reloaded, they could have at least chosen a hotter actor...

Yeah, it's a sick movie! Fighting kicked ass, the story was intense, and the acting was the way the Wachowski brothers wanted it.

Just because most of you can't get your prepubescant minds around the plot, doesn't mean it was a shitty movie.

I agree about Trinity, she is definately a butter-face. But KILLER body!

The Wachowski said it best themselves. There are many levels to the movie, one person might just get the movie as an action movie and totally miss the philosophical overtones and most of the plot.

I think the reason a lot of people didn't appriciate the second movie as much is because the philosophical overtones were forced on a person moreso than the first. You can watch the first movie and not think at all about 'Brain in Vats', 'Determinism' etc. However, in watching the second movie, the architect, marlvingie and oracle scenes all deal with strong 'Determinism vs. Libertarianism vs. Compatiblism' overtones which some may find hard to get their head around. This probably turned off a lot of viewers who were looking for the next explosion, fight scene or pair of tits. I'd say the creator of the thread falls into this category.

Structure is a problem with the second movie. While the first has beginning, middle and end, the second is just middle. I hope the third movie fixes this and brings conclusion to some of the things presented in the second movie.

Oh.... and no one got shot in the second movie.

see i of all people do understand all that pyscology and stuff of the matrix and i agree, but he second one really wasnt as good it was totally different from the first and in this one they kinda almost made it more of an action movie and they didnt put alot of empysis on the symbols and meaings in it, it seams like they crammed it all in, of course the 3rd one will explain it all

haha, Im going to have to say that I thought the second movie was incredibly beneath my expectations. In the first they introduced an interesting concept that you think wow and puzzle over and it can lead on to new ideas etc, metaphysicaly speaking. After a few days of thinking about it and pondering over ideas you are done. In the second movie they seemed to try and make themselves sound like they were talking about alot of interesting things but when it came down to it, they were just adding alot of meaningless bluk to their previous concept. I Puzzled over the movie for a long long time and the concepts were just stale and there were even some pieces that just didnt connect (after analyzing it for hours we found some stuff we have yet to find the answer to). Also, if you have to watch the animatrix to understand it, that proves it was badly done. Anyways, just my opinions.

I'm pretty sure you just didn't understand the movie, sorry. The ideas weren't stale at all, their take on compatibilism where by second order desires are emotional rather than logical was very interesting, something I have never read even in books dealing completely with Compatibilism. Most people just didn't understand the concepts, and assumed if they didn't understand them, they obviously don't make sense. Get over yourself.

there were some problems with reloaded for sure and the first one will always be my favorite. but anyone who claims reloaded sucks or was pointless is obviously too stupid to be watching the movie. like someone mentioned above, there is a lot of meaning and philosophy packed into the scenes with the oracle, the architect, etc. and the fight scenes were amazing. it is a great movie.

actually maximumsushi, im always really interested in plot and storylines, and i think that the action is way to overplayed. Regardless of how hot/ugly trinity is, i think a 5 minute sex seen is completly unneeded. So know, im not looking for explosoins and tits and action and all that

i think the sex seen was important. the seen showed us the pasion that they had, and the seen has a lot to do with neo's dessision on to save her at the end of the movie. it shows the love and wi/o that i think it would have been harder to show that and why neo chooses to save her at the end

If you were really interested in storylines and plots, what was the problem. It was definatly there.

The 10 minute rave/sex scene was fucking dumb. They could have done the same thing in about 1/3 the time. That was there for the tits people I think.

I might just not have picked up on things, and I would enjoy having a conversation on the film in person, too hard over the internet. But I wasnt saying the concepts didnt make sense, I just said, they were meaningless. It just seemed to me that they used alot of big words to say a very unimportant thing. I would really enjoy conversing the subject but its too hard here.

Krongos, they are totally different. I like them both a lot. One is an original scifi/action/philosophy trilogy, the other is a retelling of a trilogy of fantasy books. They both have their merits.
