Someone needs to make a new ski

i think some company should make a new line of skis.. a ski that has the twin tip ability but can ski as good as a race ski, or pure big mountain ski... i know there are the AK's out there and your ANT's and Gotmas, but i think (for example) rossi should make their bandit's with tips on teh tails, i mean it would be logical, this is so you would have a hardcore ski, but be able to ski switch in pow, and still have all the fun you can have on a twin tip.. im not sure if anyone follows, or there might even be a ski like this out there.. any thoughts, or comments..
 
Uhhhh, you haven't skied bandits if you think those ski switch well at all. They have really soft tips and fairly stiff tails, so good luck. But you honestly don't need that much tip to ride switch in powder, I did it on a pair of 195 B3's and managed a switch 3 off of a jump into powder.
 
no i havent but the B3's seemed like a great ski from what ive read, but ya i get what you are saying.
 
thats kinda lame, libtech is doing that... if they are seriously making skis they are doin it mainly for conroll of the market.
 
sounds like you're talking about a stiff, overbuilt, heavy ski, but with an obligatory twin tip. What about the Prophet 80/90?
 
i've seen the libtechs(the NAS), there pretty sick and they have those wavey edges(i forget what there called) but they look sick.
 
ya ive seen them too, i herd the edges are suposed to be good for icy conditions, so east cost or pipe stuff.
 
i really want to get my hands on some just to feel the flex, but no shop in my town has them. dont they have that foam core, whats it called like TCH core or something?
 
uhhhhh.....karmas, prophets, chronic blends? what are you trying to say there already are a lot of all-mountain twins
 
I feel you on this one, I know you don't want a prophet or..... who is saying Karma... maybe for the race with twins concept but karmas in powder... not really. I think the closest main stream board you would be interested in is some Volkl Gots. Other wise check out Faction skis. I think they might have what you are looking for.
 
I am going to reiterate the stoeckli twins. Karmas, prohets etc are stiff but if you really want racing construction I can't think of another twin that is like the Stoeckli Snakes (at least the BC, which I own). First off, Stoeckli is a race ski company and the only one to supply their race skis to the mass market. They apply their constructrion techniques to their freeride line. This means they have racing graphite bases (like the armada pipe cleaners, I guess), a sandwich construction with a glass fibre substraight as well as titaium. This gives them incredible edge hold but also makes them heavier, like a race ski. Another addition is aluminum tip gaurds which add a bit to weight but add to durability. Whatever the topsheet is made of, it is imprinted and sick but I bet it ads to the price as these things, like race skis, are expensive as hell.
 
If you own Stocklis, how come you can't spell Stockli right? Isn't it written right on the skis?
 
Err, the "O" in Stoeckli is actually an umlaut in German- an O with two dots above it, which I do not know how to reproduce on my computer. The common method of putting that into english is to write "oe", which is how StOEckli do it on their english web page. http://www.stoeckli.ch/index_en.html

I guess that's true, but the Kingswoods are all true twins, and they are amazing skis...also check out custom-ish skis, one company comes to mind: Birdos, google them, they have a ski called the Puder Luder that has the sickest topsheet you've ever beheld, and you choose the flex on all their skis.
 
Holy Shit! Those BIRDOS skis are amazing! I love the Ghetto Chicken top sheet. Too bad they start at over $1000 USD, and it's even more considering you will lose money in the conversion to Swiss Francs.
 
If you really want race construction, the Legend Pro has a partial twin on it if you can handle riding something with two sheets of metal in it. They're not ridiculously stiff, but you won't be doing butters on them, either.
 
no way nordicas are rippin all over the mountain. maybe the blower but the ignitions are just garbage. there too soft for anything
