Someone just got shot near my house

We were watching a scary movie with some girls at my house, and right near the end we hear a bunch of "pops". Nobody really thinks much of it, but five minutes later we hear sirens, and one of my housemates comes out from his room and says that he just checked the dispatch website, and there was a 'Assault 14' four houses down the block from us... Lots of cops are outside right now, whole street is shut down. We live near the UW campus by all the frats, so its not surprising to have this once in a while, but still...

 
Dude, last spring we had a bear wandering around my street, and I live in the middle of Seattle. Nothing much surprises me anymore.
 
why would you expect shooting near the frats. I'd expect like, beer bottle stabbing near frats, and shooting near projects.
 
my little rich suburb neighborhood has suddenly turned into a rough neighborhood. someone went down the street and broke into a bunch of cars, and a guy got shot down the street a couple weeks ago.
 
Apparently it just wandered around through a few alleyways at first, but then it got braver and started walking down 17th, which is the main street through the frats and has a huge grass/tree median. a bunch of people were out partying that night, and animal control told everyone to get inside. Kinda caused a panic, people started freaking out.

And where I live isnt really a rough neighborhood. But with the people that the frats attract (and it being halloween weekend, big party weekend) I guess its not that unlikely. Scared all of us last night though, thats really freaky to hear when you've just watched 28 Days Later.
 
I live in Ottawa in the city and a bear was walking around near my house, fuckin random... they shot it though :(
 
we had a gang killing victim dumped in the woods next to my school (i go to school in a nat'l park) in freshman year. on thursday, someone was killed in a parkinglot right next to my school
 
yeah my neighbour was shot. shootings and stabbings always happen in my area, its next to the ghetto which kinda sucks, cunts always sit there and thretten you and give you shit about nothing
 
and i live in a nice neighborhood although that description sounds like the projects. it was a pissed off boyfriend that killed his gf's mom, some teachers, his friend i think and tried to kill himself.
 
jeez, where do you guys live?

I can´t even remember when the last guy was shot in my state, I guess it was 5 or 6 years ago and the murderer got caught a few days later...

Could never live in a neigbourhood like yours
 
here in anchorage ak some bear walked into a house and a guy walked out of his room and it was right there so he shut the door and got his gun that was in his room...then the bear went down stairs and he went and shot it when it came back up with a shot gun
 
There's a bar where I lived that was described to me as "the place where all the gangsters go to dance". And I guess it was busy one night and normal people showed up, two guys from my class were there, and then this one guy who looked kind of skinny and nerdy went in an accidentally spilled a guy's drink and was killed.

First the gangster beat the shit out of him, then the bouncers.
 
Someone shot some houses last month up the street from my house. I live in a nice neighborhood except the fact that theres a foster home at the end of the street. Its all the crooked teeth ghetto idiots.
