So i just got a job with a company in jackson and they told me we can get cost+20% from backcountry.com through a group deal. Can anyone tell me approximately what the mark down would be?

-Thanks

half the price, then add 20%

cost price is usually half of retail price depending on the company and recommended mark up price

bummer, cost plus 20% is a pretty weak deal, as deals go.

and cost completely depends. if you need to guess, then as said 50% is sort of close, but it fully depends or the margins, size of the order, bunch of different factors, there's no set mark up.

I have almost the same deal whit salomon, cost + 10% i think. A pair of twenty teelve whit sth 16 is under 500$. I got my spk for 150$ a few years ago.

Retail prices usually have between a 50-100% markup. That makes cost 50% to 66% of retail. Adding 20% to that makes your total cost 60% to 79.2% of retail, which makes your dicount between 40% and 20.8% depending on the product.

interesting enough, I work in retail, at Backcountry.com.

they should give you a discount code so you can go to the site, add items to your cart and proceed to checkout. then there will be a link that says "redemption code". Just put it in and it will tell you the price anytime you add an item.

Check out Stoic items. You'll get insane deals (around 60% off retail).

Some brands it's 50% off, some brands it's 25% off, some it's in the middle. The lower our cost, the better the deal for you.

and don't share it with your friends. cost x 1.2 is pretty good, and the codes have certain amount of uses so if you give it out it'll A) get turned off, or B) be all used up.

except for armada. Their skis are sold at a slim margin! 10% above cost is only about 30% off retail.Just goes to show they make quality shit. ...or that they haven't figured out how to cut down on costs yet.

Word thanks for the info.

I won't actually be placing the order but instead letting my boss know and he places a group order, so I wont have a code.

Completely untrue. Consider that the product you are buying had to be purchased by a backcountry employee, stored in a warehouse that's probably heated with lights inside it, received and posted to the website by other backcountry employees, then your order filled and packed to be shipped. Cost plus 20% is pretty much the actual true cost of the product.
