So I'm stumped on finding a topic for my term research paper that has to be between 9-10 pages long. The time has to be between 1370 and 1870. Help me out NS

are you for real? you have a several hundred year gap and you cant pick anything?

colonization of north america would be one of the easiest things in the world

Industrialization of Europe? It would be easy if you chose a broad topic like that, but you could narrow it down to anything within the period. Something I would do would be energy production during that time, or advances in technology, agriculture, or city services/infrastructure. The list goes on!

also make sure you find something that you are interested in and that won't make you bored, if you don't like your subject the paper and your time writing it will suck.

15th century Ethiopia would be a very impressive topic. Actually any African history pre colonization would be good. Can you do it on a person? Look up Ibn Battuta one of the most influential Islamic characters of all time. Some example of college topics I have done,Veermer's vision of peace in the 17th century dutch.Alexander Pope's political/satirical careerRasputin and the Russian Royal Family (if you want to do some weird freaky shit)
if you cant find something to do you are not looking really hard. My advice find narrow topic pretty much all of the topics mentioned are to vague and will cause an overload of information.

Thats a dumb thing to say. Africa (especially northern Africa) developed some very powerful and advanced civilizations (ethiopian, mali, songhay, ghanese, nubia, egyptian, swhaili, etc..) Modern History tends to forget about them to feel better about the invasion and destruction of africa.

Are you for real? That's 500 years.

i am pretty sure that nothing important happened in that span OUTSIDE of north america.

go to wiki and search for those centuries or even randomly try 10 years and there should be SOMETHING.

egocentricism at its best

european monarchs? Im doing one on that right now and its a good topic for sure. Mary Tudor was fucking tapped.

the french revolution would be pretty easy and interesting, but everyone does that. Reformation and the great schism is one of personal favourites.

some topics that would be easy to write 10 pages on would probably include:

Pre-Antebellum America (what led up to civil war), enlightenment, renaissance, french revolution, the 2nd enlightenment, the revolutionary war, expansion of the English empire. Personally writing a paper of all the factors leading up to the civil war would be the easiest by far.

1370 is a bit late for the glory viking days but there was still some viking action going on a bit.

Feudal Japan lies directly in your history choices. So many different topics to choose from in old japan. So much war and history in feudal japan.

french revolution

witch hunt in europe

war between france and the rest (napoleon)

industrialisation

russian politics

Englands colonism

plagues in europe

there are so many topics you could write about.... you could just type in some random year inbetween that span of time and I bet you would find a topic thats worth of writing about.

China everyone?

The rise and fall of one of the greatest dynasties of the Chinese Empire, the Ming.

From the collapse of the Mongols dynasty to the rise of the Qing, the last Chinese dynasty. Right into your time frame.

Look into it, worth the read.

or like someone else said before: feudal Japan was badass.

The Reformation (Martin Luther)The Spanish Inquisition (which hunts, etc)

History of the Czars in Russia (some pretty crazy stuff)

There are so many ideas and topics to pick from. Should be easy!
