These are two snowboarding videos released about 6 months ago. Directed by Mike Benson. Trying not to get hated on here because I'm sure many people have seen these. This is for those who haven't. SNOWBOARDING.

star wars one was so ill

i thought the first was lame though...took away from the riding and hurt my eyes
 
The Gnar wars was cool but the first one was just too much of a good thing. It was a really cool edit but after a while it just looked like a video game. I think it was killed by having the color change on that. Maybe have it rotate between the opposite colors and the normal would be good though.
 
do you have any experience with after effects?

if not believe me you dont even want to try to start to learn how to do these for a while. ive just about got them but there annoying as fuck.
 
I wouldnt really say the gnarwars one had good editing well it was bad editing it just had a really good story line

watch the light streak tutorials there. there pretty simple if you have no camera movement in your shot. but that looks no where near as cool. but by watching those tutorials youl understand how to do that (if you dont have camera movement).

with camera movement you have to create a new null for movement of whatever your tracking plus a new null for camera shake/movement. with the two nulls parented correctly you will be able to keep your emitter on whatever your following while changing the position of the already emitted particles which will compensate for camera movement

"tracking null" goes to your light streak null and the camera shake null is then parented to your particle layer.

i cant even explain where im getting stuck but i know its something to do with reverse stabilizing my footage before doing any of this. so im just playing around with that now. im so close but i just worked on it for 3 hours tonight so im done for now but il work on it some more tomorow.

also he does something to his streaks to make them watery looking i think he does it with the effect ccmercury but i havent played around with that at all yet.

 
thought the gnar wars one was sorta cheesy despite the cool editing but the other two were really what snowboarding is all about....creativity and fun....i enjoyed them all fully, though. +karma to both of ya.
 
Whats the song in magic flashlights, i know i have heard it 10 times and its popular but i have just never known what it was
