I love that there is a place online where I can go and buy or sell freeride gear. At least that is what the Buy, Sell, & Trade forum should be for. But lately it appears more like a bad want-ads section of a newspaper. I mean a "want to buy thread about a bright blue t-shirt"? Kids trying to find bright green board shorts? A WTB for shoes? A sale for an old belt? It is like a horrible garage sale. Can we revert back to what this is designed to be? Ski equipment only please.

Thank you. And mods, if you agree with me, can we police this a bit and make this a sticky? Perhaps not, but I thought I'd ask.
 
I agree with you too TS. And it makes it more valid seeing this coming from a respected longtime member as yourself.

I agree a little, I think if someone has a huge sale with ski stuff and non-ski stuff it is cool, but just non-ski stuff is lame.
 
Yes, it isn't a big deal if there is a random item or two along with other ski items, but the WTB threads and threads solely selling non-ski items are just clutter.
 
^true, there should be buy/sell/trade for ski gear and non ski gear

i think things like cameras or xboxes are fine. but yeah shirts and belts, unless part of a bigger sale, are kinda redonk

As for "WTB: Blue Shirt" - thats fucking stupid.
 
That is the greatest idea ever. We should have 2 diff B/S/T Fourms. Im tired of seeing WTB/WTT: Redbull Hat/helmet/anythign else redbull. NO ONE HAS THE REAL STUFF! STOP TRYING!
 
i agree with this, but it does clutter things up a bit. either a b/s/t forum for ski and non-ski stuff, or just a WTB forum, like want ads, and then just a FS forum.
 
i suggested a non ski related for sale section a long time ago. no one ever listens to me.. o well
 
it doesn't really bother me...but if you really wanted too..why not have four buy/sell/trade categories:

sell/trade ski, sell/trade non-ski, buy ski, buy non-ski

 
i think if you want to sell stuff like an old belt dont make a single thread but instead include it in a sale with lots of other ski stuff
 
^ thats a good idea too and i agree that this is getting a little ridiculous. some of the stuff being sold is totally stupid and let me know if i am being hypocritical too by the way. haha. but i agree with sticking to skis, jackets/pants, boots, bindings, helmets, gogs, and if youre gonna sell something like tall tees or used gloves then at least make a big thread and dont put one tee shirt in a single thread. its just fuckin stupid.
 
an extra forum for non ski equip is dumb. just like dont sell a freaking belt for10 shipped on NS. jeez
 
lets just make one new B/S/T and the only thing that goes in there is WTB/WTT/FS/FT: Redbull shit im sooooooo sick and tired of seeing threads about "o is this redbull hat real?" inless the guy is legit and is sponsered by redbull then fuck no its not. Please stop with the redbull hats i dont even see why youd want one just to look like your good and sponsered by redbull? THATS CALLED BEING A TOOL.
 
Yo I agree 100%, i was just thinking today. I was like wtf is all this stuff...I thought I want to craigslist by mistake...This is a skiers website, not goodwill. Like another poster said..I dont think its a big deal if there is something "non ski related" in someones sale as long as they have ski equipment also. Go to craigslist if you want to sell things.
 
YES! i ran into one sale where the kid was trying to sell his goggles (no names will be mentioned) and he bumped his thread every hour for like 2 days. You should only use a bump if your thread is not on the first or second page of the fourms.
 
it doesnt bother me at all. i think its good that if a member is looking for a random non-ski related item, they can go here and possibly find it. if the thread sucks or no one has what is being looked for, it will die.

but DEFINITELY dont split this up. first of all, they just split up the ski equipment forum like 2-3 months ago so i dont think they'd want to do it again. second of all, the gear talk forum isnt very lively in any sense of the word. so i think if B/S/T was split up the forum without ski stuff would be sooo dead
 
its summer time and ski related things wont sell as fast so let ppl sell what they want to.. if you dont like it then dont look in the thread

Yeah, there should be a bump button so they don't count towards your post count, and there should be a limit of 2 or 3 bumps a day.
 
i dont understand why people make threads to sell like old headbands, old belts, old hats, etc

their making like no profit and theres the cost/hassle of shipping
 
i think it's completely fine if people sell shit other then ONLY ski related gear. as long as people hint at what they're selling in their thread name you should quit bitching and just read the threads and look at only what you want. chill out.

i agree too, but what if some nsers want a cell phone or a bright pair of shorts. i think it should be a good idea to keep it only gear related, but also shouldnt there be some randdumb sales as well?
 
i think its worth the 2 seconds to hit your back button to find some weird and interesting random goods on here...just my opinion though
