Some mildly entertaining shit

...the key word being, mildly.

NS,

This OSC username was officially made approximately 1 hr ago to track the progress or potential lack-there-of of a ski project we just kicked off, entitled One Ski Co. and affectionately yet randomly abbreviated, OSC.

The aim of the project, at its core, is to support the independent and real aspects of our lifestyle and sport - be it through up-and-coming skiers, artists, production companies, underground clothing companies, and anything else that relates to the ski lifestyle - including, but not limited to, deep pow days, long rail rides, and unrelenting face shots.

Yes, with this project, you'll get ski/sex double entendre's for days.

Now that you're slightly and inappropriately turned-on, you can take a look at the site in beta here -

www.oneskico.com

If you read that and still have no idea what's going on, you can get a fuller read on the long-term ideas of the project here -https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/685141/

Assuming that you opened the thread and closed it due to its excessive length (yes, we would as well), it'd be legit to get some feedback on the look and direction of the site itself so we can be sure to put out the right content at the right time.

Mainly, it'd be real good to know a few deeply burning questions that have kept us up at night -

1. How does the site look and is it at least somewhat easy to follow?

2. In the future, would you prefer buying new skis or would it be better to get good deals for demo/used gear? Some combination of both? And of course, we can always do no selling at all, just support for legit brands and people..

3. What content wouldnj be best to read in the remaining season? Music for edits/skiing, independent clothing companies, artists, up-and-coming skiers, etc..

4. Turns out, we can get some black face-masks with our red logo ready to ship by the end of Jan. Would people be down to buy for a good price like $10 shipped or would it be better to wait on next season? They look pretty tight but that's a 100% biased assessment so, judge accordingly.

Alright, I'm sure there's a lot more to say but that's all for right now. Quite honestly, we've been playing quarters for the past 4 hours and this post probably should be saved for tomorrow anyways but, whatever...doin it.

Any and all feedback is welcomed as we are fully aware we won't pursue everything right the first time around...most likely not even a fraction of it right the first time around/

And if the less-than-960-pixel-pictuvres and poorly-photoshopped-photographer-names didn't tip you off, this isn't a largely-funded corporate project, this is truly an ongoing, keep "skiing, listening, creating and supporting indie" kind of project, brought to you by occasionally-motivated, yet, always under-paid ski bums.

+k to all with something to say - good, bad, or otherwise. At the end of the day, it's all appreciated and it's all good.

And I really like the site!

- I think you should put the headlines for the 'Recent News' over each picture instead

- Bigger pictures

- Maybe a different font for headlines.

- Add a little bit of text under the pictures, so you know a little more what it's about.

That's all I can think of right now :)

Yes, after re-reading this post sober this morning, we couldn't agree with you more.

Fortunately, anyone resembling an overweight Mr T is entertaining 100% of the time.

Thank you for upping our real estate value.

Thanks dude, very much appreciate the feedback.

Some +k has been sent your way. If you have any ideas on the questions in the OP, feel free to let us know - you may be handsomely rewarded with marginally more karma in life, but more importantly, on NS.

I'll check out the site when not on mobile but this idea sounds interesting for sure. Almost like a totally user-run more specific NS.

I really like how the site is presented and the layout is done very well! The only thing I would change is when you go to culture, put the title of the post overtop of when it was posted and when it was posted a bit smaller so it doesn't really rival the title for the first thing you look at. Other than that I really like the site. Good job!

A lot better than expected that's for sure, really well done. I'm keeping an eye out.

site looks good for a start. needs a lot more catchy shit above the fold (top half of home page without scrolling) like the newschoolers homepage and tgr. People who are browsing only average about 15 seconds on a web page unless something catches their eye. Are you guys going for a forum on the page as well or just media? nothin beats a hot deal on new gear, connect with smaller companies and try to be like a groupon for skiing merch

Hey to all, big thanks for your posts and pm's the past few days. Both appreciative and stoked on the feedback. It looks like there's still a good deal of room for improvement but the first try wasn't too bad of a fuck up, so yeah, not a bad place to be.

Based on suggestions, more content will be coming with edits, music to ride to, and work from local artists. We'll also be looking into bringing on more indie brands with a focus on demo/used gear in the future.

Until then, if you're in need of some badass Moment skis, give a shout to info@oneskico.com with what you're looking for and we'll work something out with you.

Think that's all for now, it's a nice bluebird day so thought process is waning.

If you dig the concept - www.facebook.com/oneskico.com

+k to all that have and do write to us with suggestions, support, and yes, even hate. We know it's just deep concern disguised...

HashBlazer420-five-thousand...we recommend you being higher and try again. While there's a 88% chance it will be as boring and shitty as the first time you tried, at least you'll be higher, and that's never a bad thing
