Some longboard video over the weekend...

I got a longboard this week and have been using it as a cruising board from my place to work. I have been getting the hang of it but still a little shaky and thought I might as well have some fun and go around... I live in Ontario and there are very little hills to go crazy but im progressing so they are perfect size... anyways here they are - embedding +++ karma

those edits are cool, i like the mount on the second one. its a cool angle. music flows as well.
but yeah, i like them
 
Good editing and all that, but you really should learn how to slide to

make it a little mor interesting. Here's a video of some of my friends

ya man, its my first week on it and really have never boarded before so im just getting into it!! sliding would be dope to do... I'm learning some other tricks and my wheels are new so there hard to slide (i got to work them in) and that video is sick... switchback is dope and I'll be in BC in september for school so that will give me some sick hills to carve
 
ya man the canon rebel xti (start of the video) is really smooth!! wish all my shots were from it but the go pro does wonders how its so small
 
just finished watching all three days of the big mountain videos, fuck that looks like a hell of alot of fun, where is that filmed?
 
haha thanks man... ya I didn't get a sandwich either so sorry about that. I was out last night getting some sliding down, I'll work on it!!

while this thread is on the topic of longboarding, how do you slide? i got one a few weeks ago and cant quite figure it out
 
I've been just watching some youtube videos... and last night it had rained so I went out!
If you have sliding gloves then the "push up slide" is pretty easy!! you reach your hands out almost like a push up and take your heals off the board whilst doing a turn!! I could do it but then getting back on the board was tuff... I'm just going to keep practising
 
it's so depressing seeing a slide come to a stop they look so epic when they're happening. I wish you could slide corners without losing speed. I liked how they kinda cut the ends of the slide shots so you kinda got that unattural feeling like they could keep sliding but the shot just ended. Dunno if that made any sense but thats a great edit.
 
Wtf? How did the camera fall in the second video? I saw you like step off the board and then all of a sudden the camera fell...
