some info on next years skis

here's everything i know about the upcoming K2 line...

the Seth Vicious:

Top Sheet:

-Both Malay's and Schmies' work on it.

- Guy with mushroom cloud coming out of his head on the 179. Zipper and Safety Pin are both epoxied into the topsheet.

- 189's are lime greenish-yellow and the front part of the ski had a huge big mtn. scene and a helicopter flying. There were random skulls on the tips of the skis and the studs are stars on the tips and tails.

- And I wouldn't doubt if the top sheet is P-Tex instead of that other shit they used.

Base:

- Just a bit of die cut but it's apparently a different base.

- For graphics it had a pink area that said 'Vicious' in bright yellow... it was swirling all around the base. There was stars on the base as well, also colored pink or yellow.

Sidewalls:

- They stay the same at 14 meters.

- Might be P-Tex because the new PE/ Fujas have it.

Flex:

- More stiff under foot than the previous skis.

Diamentions:

- 98 underfoot, not sure about tip or tail.

Rumour patrol: The SV is not a swallowtail it's a full twin.

The Public Enemy:

Red, white and black silhouites of different 'crime scene' type stuff. Light weight. Made in 'half sizes' this year. 164, 169, 174, etc

The Fujative:

Clear topsheet and base with some small graphics on tip and tails. A house, and some trees...clear base as well. you can see the wood and carbon stringers...its pretty sweet.

no word on the Made'N AK or Juvy.

 
from what i understand, they're still a cap. i guess that is cheaper to produce and K2 wants to keep the price down. also forgot to mention that the PE is now 85mm underfoot, but has been widened in the tip and tail to keep the sidecut and turn radius the same.

as for the fujatives....they sound sick, anyone have a picture of it by any chance?

i have never heard of an atomic ski breaking...so why add another ski to the package untill they changed it so its a softer ski that might break. if you dont rotate them throughout the season also, one ski is going to end up being nice and factory tunes while the other 2 are wore down...also the 3 skis, 2 bindings makes it and issue also unless u HAVE to buy an atomic bindings

easy solution to switching out the bindings- Line's Freedom Plate and Reactor binding. just get a third plate (i'm sure a shop would sell one to you and keep the other one on display or something) and you're good to go. and, yes, Volkl's line is awesome. it's funny, though- that pic of Volkl's line was posted on the K2 boards in mid-December. you guys need to get on the ball.

Just got a look at the Line skis for next year. Sorry if this is old news, haven't seen it anywhere else though.

There will be 2 or 3 women's specific models.

The prophet stays with a 130 mm waist with new mounting configurations.

There will also be a prophet 100, that has a 100mm waist and slightly shaved down tip and tail dimensions.

The Mothership Ti is replaced by the prophet 100 but the flight is still in the lineup with much better graphics.

No more pro models, in their places is the Chronic Wide which has the same dimensions as the current Skogen and Mike Nick.

The Elizabeth, a model designed and named by Pollard was an interesting model but I can't remember many details about it.

They also have a new park ski, with a butter specific flex pattern and is also a true twin (110-80-110).

Sorry I can't remember many more details, I had just driven 6 hrs. couldn't focus too well.
