Some general campaign observations.... don't worry, its short.

Now this isn't some cheap attempt to sway votes last minute, that's just stupid, and if you haven't already decided who you are voting for yet, you're probably stupid too. Anybody who hasn't researched and picked one or the other yet has gotta be retarded.

And it is like %99 likely that our state will go for Obama anyways.

Back to the topic,

I am personally for Obama, but again that doesn't really matter. Except now you guys can laugh at me if he loses, our cry next to me, your choice. I have a big problem with McCain and Palin as people. Issues aside, its the anger. What happened to logic and reason? Of course I really don't even know where McCain stands on the issues because he's too busy being angry about things and pointing the finger.

This is merely my own observations of the campaigns but doesn't it seem like while Obama ran on a platform of hope and change. McCain ran on a platform of anger and fear mongering?

And the lies.... the way both of them pretty much made shit up about the others policy ideas in an attempt to make the other look bad. This happened on both sides. McCain loves to twist Obama's tax plan. I'll let somebody else give an example of McCain's message getting twisted, because I don't give a fuck.

McCain is a Dunce when it comes to modern economics, he has admitted this on video multiple times. So I think its fair to consider it fact.

Attempted voter suppression. Holy shit, I can't believe this happens, apparently some of us really don't believe in democracy. Its hard to tell what side is doing it without being a prick and assuming how a certain group of people is going to vote. ( I wonder who's trying to suppress the black voters, hm) Of course it isn't the candidates themselves trying to suppress voters, its their psychotic rogue followers.

Remember when Palin refused to answer a court supoena issued by her own state? Wow, not even vice president yet and she's already above the law.

The Religious Right: GODDAMNIT, I fucking hate religous maniacs. Your political viewpoint shouldn't be determined by ONE fucking book. And especially not a fucking work of FICTION. To all those reverends and pastors out there ranting and raving on youtube, spending hours twisiting logic and simply making shit up in a weak attempt to connect Obama with terrorist agendas. I hope you get shat on by an elephant with a taste for spicy food, and it burns all the flesh of your face. Then you'll have to rant on the radio!

So yea, this election has been pretty annoying, they seem to bring out the worst in people. Of course it's not like it's really any different from the 2004 or 2000 election, they were just as irratating.

Is there anything in particular that really annoyed you about this election? Other than obnoxious blogging liberals such as myself?

"The Religious Right: GODDAMNIT, I fucking hate religous maniacs"

yes, there are republican-voting-christians. however i find it hilarious how easy it is for people to withdraw from their minds the notion of democratic-voting-christians. i went to a college run by jesuits. they were very left-leaning. ever been to a predominately black baptist church? i have, and i would consider most people there very zealous about their faith and are most likely voting democratic.

"To all those reverends and pastors out there ranting and raving on youtube".....does this include reverend wright? or only the evil republican pastors? hmm?

and how come its racist for a white person not to vote for obama simply because he's black. while its not racist for a black person to vote for obama simply because he's black. aren't both cases examples of blind voting by race, and not by policies?

Nice imagery with the elephant doo-doo.

I have one thing to say: That's politics. They're going to say what you want to hear, or try to, and in most cases, they'll do just about anything to win.

I voted for Obama, nice thread.

There are fucked up people on both sides, but I think there are more crazy uninformed conservative people than liberal people. Just a theory, I have no statistics (there aren't any...) to back this up.

I agree. I hate how so much of the election was putting the other candidate down, and nobody was interested in what the candidates were planning to do to fix this 8-year fuck-up.

Yes there is a religious left, but those are the christians that are smart enough to think for themselves and gather their opinions using more than one source of ideas.

I want ALL pastors to shutup honestly...

I'm not sure why exactly I get so annoyed by people preaching, but I do.

Well put.

Lately I have had a large bone to pick with middle class republicans. A very large majority of republicans are in fact blue collar working class, and all I've been hearing about lately is Obama's tax plan, and his "Socialist/communist" ideas.

What the republicans do, is use this idea of the "American Dream". Then they ask everyone, do you want the governemnt to come and take what you have earned?

The major misconception is that people think they are actually living the "american Dream". Of course no one wants their personal gains to be stripped from them, but these people aren't the "rich" ones. They are in fact quite the opposite.

Fear has causeed everyone to say no, fuck that, I want to maintain what I've earned. But these are the people that will benefit. They don't understand that. Just because you make 80k a year, doesn't make you "rich" nor will you be punished for increasing your income to 100k, 125k, 200k, etc, up to 250k a year.

The average blue collar worker, middle management, and some executives are going to BENEFIT greatly from Obama's tax plan.

The wage ratio of a CEO to an average factory worker has gone from 25:1 to nearly 250:1

Yes the everage worker is living comfortably, so they feel they have "made it" and are living the dream. What they don't realize is the extreme difference in wealth.

People naturally want to believe in their own success, and republicans use that as a tool to incite fear into voters. What they don't tell them is that they will actualyl benefit, because THEY ARE THE POOR PEOPLE. 95% of Americans will see a tax cut.

As much as every American wants to believe they are "living the American Dream", it's simply not true. 95% of us fit into a pretty small wage earning bracket, and the other 5% are the ones inisghting all the fear and telling people they are going to have their money taken and given to people who "Are too lazy to work".

If people knew where they actually stood in comparison to the people who will be taxed, rather than throwing out terms like "rich" and "Poor".(How many people consider themselves "poor"? Not many.) I think they would feel quite differently.
