I work in a pizza restaurant and I was doing the job of cutting up all the ingredients. One ingredients was canadian bacon. We use a meat slicer for that. It was my first time using the machine. I was slicing away, talking to some other kid when, I feel some excruciating pain. I sliced the end of my thumb off with the slicer. The other part of my thumb was on the other side of the blade. It hurt so bad and it was gross and I was bleeding everywhere. I had to wait for another kid to drive me to the hospital where i bled all over the waiting room and everyone was staring at me. As I was slicing the bacon, it kept getting shorter until my thumb got close enough.

not as bad looking as i thought. but shit that is still nasty. hah i'm not allowed to use the meat slicer at work since i'm not 18. thank god.
 
serious? The kid wasnt paying attention and sliced off the tip of his finger...
 
Yeah it was my fault, but I will most likely get workers comp if my doc tells me I can't work. It is bullshit money and i need money for college.
 
of course not silly. it reminded me of the time we had one of those slicers in our office because some asshat also cut his finger off...the attorney working on the matter found part of it jammed in there.
 
Everyone needs money for college, but it doesnt mean you need to sue someone else for it (and if you dont sue because it was your own fault, i respect that).
 
i worked at a pizza place and one guy did the exact same thing.

he came upstairs after he cut it off and told us what happened. he was like yea, im alright, im fine, then his eyes roll into the back of his head and he falls straight back and cuts a huge gash into his head from hitting the corner of a table.
 
No, i said im not suing anyone but they are willing to give me workers compensation, which is what i was refering to as bullshit money, like 50 bones a week
