Solving equations on ti-84s? +K

So I was wondering how I solve equations on a Texas Instrument graphing calculator, like any x= problem. For example, the problems are a lot longer than this, but they are like 3(x-3(2-x)=-24. Ya I know that its easy but I have 4 pages of those + graphing and being able to use my calculator would be a great help.

click y=, then put everything on the left side of the equation in one of the y= slots, then everything on the right of the equation in the next y= slot. then click 2nd and then calculate then click intersection and the intersection points are the x values
 
this. on a ti-84 you cant plug in an equation with variables and have it give you the answer, just take the extra 30 seconds to factor and move stuff around, not that hard
