So there was a thread a while back asking this exact question, but everyone had a differing view so it hasn't help much!

My bro wants to get brigades because he thought they were the same ski as 07 bc wrs, but many people have planted seeds of doubt.

WHAT'S THE TRUTH???

if they're the same then freeskier is retarded:

2007 BG (quote) "A big mountain tester will rave about their stability at speed"- editors pick...

2008 BG said almost exactly the opposite, how unstable they were for big guys...

can someone who actually knows the answer please... do tell- are they the same?

i dont KNOW the answer, but i DEFINITELY found the brigade softer than the BC wrs..

everything else including dimensions are the same though i believe

A rossignol rep told me they were identical. and holding andm flexing the they feel quite similar. so I'm not sure. i'm under the impression they are the same.

In size 178 the brigade is 96 waist and the bc is 98. The brigade is softer and can turn a little tighter due to the very minimal difference.

The brigade is the middle ski of a 3 ski lineup with the steeze and the park ski (don't know what its called)

The bc is the top of its lineup the year prior and therefore can hold the extra weight, more versitile in big mtn (where the steeze filled in a little more the next year)

Very little difference either way, I bet everyone would enjoy the brigade more unless they are 180+ and alaska residents.

^^the man above me is incorrect. the bc wrs in a 178 also has a 96 waist. the only bc with a 98 is the bc wrs in a 185. 178 is 96 and 171 is 94. ive measured by hand. and im pretty sure they are the same flex after hand flexing both. the only reason for the different review is probably because the testers now have the steeze, an even better ski, to compare it too.

I'm not trying to be a dick but you are completely wrong.

Rastafarider, I promise you, I have personally spoken with two separate Rossi reps. One was my shop's rep, whose territory is the entire midwest, and the other who reps much of the west. The Brigade and the BC are the EXACT same ski. Nothing has changed except for the name and the topsheet. I was considering the BC or Brigade for this season and did extensive research on them. Why would two Rossi reps lie about a ski when if what they said wasn't true they would have one pissed off customer and shop employee? They wouldn't.

I am obviously wrong sorry, my input should go in the "stupidest thing a shop guy has ever said to you" He had me goin - and showed me literature to prove it, but I guess I wasn't paying attention to the 185/178 difference etc.

Sorry for the misinformation - it is old info to me as I have already purchased and love the bc, wish I would have went with the 185 though.

Guys, I went to Project C last year with Rossignol and demoed all this years stuff in April. I talked to a lot of tech reps about the Brigade (171) because I was on it for 3 days straight and i ended up just buying it cause i loved it so much. They assured me that they are IDENTICAL to last years BC. The only difference is the top sheet and the put a diecut graphic in the base. whether u think they are are the same or not get on a pair they are amazing. best ski I have ever been on.

Happens man, you gotta be able to sift through all the crap some shop guys will feed to you to sell the new product. It's upsetting sometimes just how misinformed some people who are supposed to be experts are.

"if they're the same then freeskier is retarded"

You should have already known that Freeskier is indeed retarded.
