Solid wide angle lens under 450$?

Christmas is coming up and i need to determine the best wide angle lens for my t3i to ask for. My parents probably won't spend over 450$ and any thing less than that would be GREAT (ideally around 300$). I have looked at the sigma 10-20mm, the rokinon 14mm and a few others but I'm not really sure what the best buy is. Any suggestions/recommendations would be nice and of course +K and happy holidays

after you try the tokina you will understand why it has so much hype on this site. it is simply the best lens you can buy

damn, even used tokinas are expensive and the sigma has silent auto focus, this is difficult.

Autofocus is for whimps.

Also with that much of a wide-angle you hardly need to focus anyway.

well i wasn't planning on using auto focus but the fact that it is so quiet makes it a possibility.

Cant go wrong with the tokina. I have one and love it! Found these on a quick ebay search:

Settling is expensive. Get what you want/need the first time around and you'll save thousands of dollars and a lot of headache.

Bought the tokina 11-16. Pissed off I bought 3 previous lenses and sold all of em to get it… don't make that mistake.

I have the rokinon 14 2.8. Mainly because I love lenses with manual aperture. I added a 82-77mm step down ring for filters and works great. they have a newer 16 f2 as well which seems really nice, and has 77mm filter. tokina is most popular and is a great lens as well.

Can't go wrong with either the Tokina or the Sigma. I shoot a lot with the Sigma and I love it. Awesome picture quality, and it gives a nice aesthetic at 10mm in my opinion

everyone does this, most people don't feel comfortable or find it reasonable to spend that much right out of the gate
