looking for suggestions on a backpack to buy, my touring bindings broke so im gonna be hoovin it on the snowshoes. whats a cheap, solid backpack that i can pack my skis on?

anything dakine or black diamond. those have been the only ones i've used, but i don't really think you can go wrong if you buy from a ski company with a good rep.

Try them on. Personally I think Dakine packs carry very poorly when loaded.

I'm a fan of most BD stuff.

Yeah I used to liked dakine but since trying options from black diamond, osprey and evoc I would not use dakine again

Well, definitely respect you two guys above me so it looks like I am going to have to give BD a shot, good to know!

check out the clymb as well, once it gets closer to ski season you can find some avalungs on there for real cheap…i got my black diamond bag for 100$ less than the original price

Snowshoes are bigger than you think. I'd get the snowshoes first and then look at packs. They can be super annoying because, due to their length, they can limit how far you can look up sometimes. Unless you get dinky little things that are too small for your weight the length is the big issue. They tend to be around 24 inches long depending on the company. I hiked with them once and I'll never do it again. I even had a 45 L pack and the suck up so much I couldn't lean my head back, which is a pain because you never ski with your torso perpendicular to your skis. Ditched them and boot packed the rest of the day.

My suggestion is get new touring bindings. They will be a little more expensive than snowshoes but they'll be a whole lot more convenient/fast. Guardians are $228 on evo right now...

i already i have snowshoes that i love and really know how to use, i have been doing that for a while. but yes i do agree that just to pay up and buy a new pair of bindings would be the best choice. snowshoeing up is just a temporary solution til i get more mula. was just looking for a less beat up shitter of a pack than mine

I personally love my Dakine heli pro I have been without touring bindings and used the ski straps and they work pretty damn we'll I have not experienced any of the black diamond packs but I have had an osprey which I like but I like the Dakine more

despite my love for heli pros. dont get it because your snowshoes will probly not fit inside very easily. make sure you measure your snow shoes and make sure theyll fit in your pack

Haha, both those dudes have way more BC experience with way more gear than me, what do I have to gain by sucking up to them? I am newb enough and humble enough to admit that they might have more knowledge than me...
