well i rode line invaders last years edition this year. and i found myself not getting that much speed. for really anything... are stiff skis faster? and better landing?

Base material is what affects your speed...... That, and snow conditions and your weight and stuff...... not the flex pattern.

Well that would institute a stomp now wouldn't it? And if you dont you are either dragging your hands or back seat. Its not like you fall with soft skis, you just have to compensate.

i'm just saying, you can ride out of a lot more with stiffer skis. i skied msp supermodels for most of the season, until they broke. i could land on my back and still ride away. i used a pair of two year old stls for a while, and i wrecked a lot more than i would have had i been on something stiffer. i'm now on scratch fs wrs and it's a happy medium. i agree that you can land fine on soft skis, it's just that you can get away with a lot more if they're stiffer.

as well as the ability of the ski to pop out of a turn and hold a edge, etc etc, but since when do we actually ski regular anyways?

i soft ski makes it really hard to hold a good carve. You aply pressure to them and they just bend and slid out. They are pretty crapy any where outside of the park. But for powder soft skis are good. so get a stiff all mountain ski and a fatty ski for pow
