Soft skis = harder to land?

I can't afford new park skis so I've been stuck riding my 164cm 1260s... but I've noticed that when hitting bigger jumps it's way harder to land stuff, I know it sounds dumb but like, if I use my Armada ARV 175's it way easier cause the stiffness, but with my 1260s when I land fakie I usually lose a ski and crash. Last year when my DIN was lower I could lean back hard and my skis would pop off, so I'm guessing the same thing is happening.

So my second question, what do you people think of the Chronics in 177 or whatever? Only answer if you've ridden them.

if your skis are popping off it means your din is too loose. as far as not being able to land with noodle skis, it's called washout.

from my brief experience with 1260s, they are noodles. i would defenitely use the armadas.

I don't use my Armadas in there because they're a fat ski and the setup is worth $1250CAN. I don't want to break the bindings because they're super expensive and I don't want to get my Armada's remounted with my Salomon bindings because, first of all they're getting weakened from remounting, and secondly... come on people, salomon bindings!

Anyways, I'll try them out, hopefully my bindings will last and hopefully I won't kill my ARVs too much. But I think now I'm going to save my money for a pair of Chronics or some other stiffer ski. Maybe Tanner Hall Pros or something like that.

^HAHA Yeah, really, I tried a few manuals... it wasn't happening. MT: no flex. Beauty skis tho, I love 'em.

I find scratches have a good balance of flex and stiffness. They are really good for manualing and buttering, but i rarely skid out on landings either. Test some out, i don't know many people who don't rate this ski.

i got those skis too, and i love um. the only reason they are hard to land on is that they are 164s.

Lets go skiing
