soft or stiff

ive narrowed the ski selection down to either the PE or the AR5, i hear the AR5 is pretty stiff and the PE is pretty soft....does it really matter if they are soft or stiff? what are the advantages of either? which one?

why are doves the international symbol of peace? why not pillows? they have twice as many feathers and not the dangerous beak

are you a big guy or not? it's all about personal prefrence. Some like it stiff some like it soft. Personally I like my skis a little softer than normal. but really it doesn't matter, and the people that say it does are stupid.

Why do black people dislike me? If it wasn't for white dudes they would still be slaves.

And I'm sure I would own a few.

i ride the pocket rockets and they seem to be fine. Alot of people reckon they are way to soft - but i think those people are just fat. Both of those skis are stiffer than the PR so if you're fat pick the AR5s if not go the PEs

Well powder skis are supposed to arch or flex in the snow to provide boyancy. I think it makes a difference on ice too rubbery skis suck on ice like rossi scratches (im from west virginia where ice comes from) I think its easier to keep an edge in stiff skis on ice.

Yeah the AR5 i think would be quite a change from the 1260s. Aren't the 12s soft? o well. Go for either ski!

my personal pref is a stiffer ski

but yeaw...u should rally demo each to see whitch ones u like

**I get head do you...?**

i went from the twelves to the concepts and that was a huge difference. i like stiffer skis, but its mostly preference. i ride on the east so stiffer skis help on hte pack and ice, im also a pretty big guy, so i need something that can hold my wiat.

PE's are not really soft at all. the very end of the tip and tail (where it starts to curve up) is made of a less stiff material, but those are the only places, the rest is fairly stiff.

so soft or stiff it really doesnt matter>?

soft skis are more forgiving and easier to ride for beginners. a hard ski is not going to bend on a forward switch landing, causing u to wreck. otherwise its preference. comparing the ar5 to the pe in $$$ is somethin else. i guess if ur going to buy the ar5 uve got some cash. the pes are really cheap.

once u can ski midwest dirt and grass, you can call yourself good

exactly. soft skis are forgiving on backseat and fakie landings but suck nust on the ice and groomers. stiffer skiis are less forgiving so you gotta stick your landings good or your gonna eat shit, but they provide better edge grip. if you live out west then go with the softer ski because of the pow and then in the park you will be fine. out east you def want a stiffer ski because of all the hard pack, ice and groomers. but then again, its all a matter of personal preference. demo both skiis before you make a purchase and then decide.

pe's are stiffer than most of the twins out there, the ar5's are just a little stiffer.. and i have rode both and cant tell that much of a dif, get the pe's and buy bindings for the same price

the ar5's are pretty soft anyway, i rode them in whistler they were so nice. dont know about the p.e.

i was debating between these 2 skis and i decided to go with the PEs. they are so much cheaper (only $349) and i'm a very lightweight guy, so it won't be too soft for me.
