ARVs are quite a bit softer than chronics, really no comparison. as for TMs, the have soft tails and noses, but it;s only a small part of the skis, with the underfoot being pretty stiff, and the areas between the noses and underfoot being like mid, hence the "spring blade" technology. it makes for a really poppy ski if you know how to flex it right, but it skis very solid. as for buttering, it makes it good if you want to get all the way out on the tips like rainville, but can be harderto initiate since the whole ski doesn't flex evenly.
