Krasnaya-Polyana (1 1/2 hrs up the road from Sochi) might just be the best ski area I've ever been to. Great terrain, 6,000' of vert, few people, incredible skiing on storm days in the trees and sick spines and lines a short hike off the top. Tough to get to, but well worth the effort. I know Pep and Pollard loved the place. Didn't know they got the Olympics. I imagine things will be changing awfully quick there. The lift system is archaic, but it'll get you up the mountain.
