well the only team sport i like is hockey and football but i only watch play-off
im not a big fan of team sport, i better like ski,skateboard,blade,mtb and stuff like that.

and to anwser to the post above: don't you need post to kick the ball when you score? and football is a sport where you get hit so without any protection you don't play the ''real game'', you play the ''touch football''... well thats what we play when we only have a ball but you can't really play the real game when you dont have all the stuff.if you know what i mean.

typical view, soccer is probably the greatest sport behind skiing. The excitement you get from watching your team score because that goal can easily finish the game. Also going to a soccer game like actually in the stadium is unreal. Soccer is the worlds biggest game. That is a fact.

I don't have a problem with the word "gay". I have a problem with people using it as a derogatory term. There are gay people on this forum, and they may or may not be offended. How would you like it if you were constantly ridiculed for being French and then people started saying "that's so French"? You're probably going to tell me that you wouldn't give a shit, and that it's no big deal, but that's because you're too ignorant to be able to see things from other people's perspectives.

well I agree with you, If i was gay i would not like that. but i'm one of the only french canadaian who don't care about french( I actually hate french cause all the grammar stuff and arghhh) but yeah I do understand all that and I was just raging on soccer because all the soccer player I know are dickheads and douchebags. And I use the word gay cause it's way easier than saying any other kind of word where i make mistake and look stupid cause my english is not really good.
The thing you guys don't seems to understand is that i respect your opinion and all I wanted to know was why you guys like this sport soo much cause I personally don't find it interesting.

Damn, props to you for being able to admit to being wrong - but I guess just think before you speak haha. Idiot, stupid, moron, etc. can all be used instead of gay and aren't too difficult to spell. I mean, stupid is only one letter off from stupide, and idiot is the same either way, so...
But in terms of why I like soccer, to be honest I'm not a fan of watching it either - actually, I'm not really much of a fan of watching any sports. But playing it is pretty fun since you get some solid exercise during the Summer, playing some soccer with your buddies is always fun, and it's as much of a thinking game as it is a physical game. I dunno, it's just one of those things where if you like it, you like it, and if you don't, you don't. For example, I'm not a fan of basketball, but that's not to say that I don't think watching it every once in a while is cool or respecting those who play it.

Idk if i could say soccer is stupid,idiot or moron, the thing i gotta say is that when player fake some injury to give the other player a red card,it is gay. If i can compare to hockey,it is kinda boring to watch too but atleast there's some fight and that's what make hockey a bit interesting. maybe if zidane would hit more guys with his head?

soccer is fucking awful... a lot of people around here were jerking off to Sporting KC games this summer. I went to a game to see the new stadium, it ended in a 0-0 tie and I will never go back.
freedom and expression man. soccer gives each player by far more freedom to do what they want than any other sport. the only rule when you have the ball is that you can't touch it with your hands, everything else is fair game, what other team sport is like that? also way fewer rules than other sports, the only technical rules are offsides and handballs. for me, soccer is so much fun because i can make it almost anything i want, the only thing that stops me is my own ability. if you think about it, its kind of the freeskiing of team sports...

I'm sorry skiing is my favorite sport but soccer takes way more skill and yes I do both pretty intensely.
I don't even know why you're comparing these two sports, they aren't even close to each other...
And why there are a couple goals per game in soccer is because that shit is difficult as fuck, and when goals go down it's the coolest.

You are honestly the biggest moron. The only reason you think players fake injuries to get an opposing player a yellow CARD, is because you are watching FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Real Madrid, or the Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Uruguayan national teams. And for everyone in this thread, it's FOOTBALL, not soccer, if it starts out as football, it remains football. And when I walk around my school and see guys acting like they are tough shit, it's typically because they are on the handegg team. Just because you don't have a passion for football, doesn't mean it's universally boring and stupid, if you don't think there's a source of entertainment in the 90 minutes of game play, you're not giving it a chance, and the sport doesn't need you anyways

Im coming into this from the most unbiased position possible. In the fall I'm the captain of our schools soccer team and in the winter all I do is ski. The two are extremly different and it's stupid to compare them in any way shape or form. The only thing I could see would be the excitement and joy they bring you which for me is on a similar level just in similar ways. The only thing I will say is obviously everyone on this site skis so skiing will always win, but anyone who hasnt tried soccer really should. It may be boring to watch, I'll admit I get bored watching some games, but playing is one of the best things out.
PS this probably didnt make much sense I'm fucking tired. but honestly fuck arguing over two sports and how one is better than the other especially when they are in entirely different categories.
