Soccer or Golf

im gonna be a junior in highschool this fall

soccer tryouts ended today and i was told that my skill level just wasn't quite there and i need fine tuning so i was asked to go down to JV soccer instead of Varsity, JV coach is awesome and told me and my friend that we would be captains and prolly start but we are juniors

nowww.. its either that orr

varsity golf which i have played for the past two years, i could easily make the team and prolly play top 6 i just missed contact sports thats why i did soccer this year.

idk what should i pick???

well i sorta know what this is like. my soccer tryouts end in 2 days and im a junior and if i dont make varsity im gunna quit soccer. but i dont play golf or anything, id just do nothing instead. if i was in your position, id quit soccer, and play golf. itd kinda suck being a junior on a jv team

One of my good friends got put on JV his junior year, in fact only 3 Juniors, me being one of them, made the Varsity roster because we were so stacked. That year we ended up going to the quarterfinals in states and losing on a bullshit penalty kick.

The following year, the Juniors who were on JV the year prior stepped up and played really really well. Most of them filling Varsity spots, not just cause we needed bodies, but because they trained real hard in the off season and were just that damn good.

Keep your head up kid. With 1,700 kids my highschool was super competitive in sports and it wasnt easy to make any varsity squad...even golf. If you want it bad enough, you'll find a way onto the varsity roster. Just stay after practice and PRACTICE. Ya hurd!

soccer. just because you aren't on the varsity team doesn't mean that you should stop playing a sport that you like, and quit. Don't be one of those kids who if they don't make varsity just quit. I don't like those kids

yeah dude stay with soccer. if you're captain, its obvious that you'll be needed next year when they lose the seniors.

except that theres already the juniors on varsity this year who will be starting next year. i just wouldnt wanna be one of the only juniors on a team with freshman and sophmores. trust me, there were 4 juniors on jv last year and it sucked for them.

he's got it right. you can play golf anytime. you'll never have the chance to play high school soccer again. even though i dont really like soccer and do play golf i would still say play soccer.

true... you don't get hit in soccer like you do in lacrosse, hockey, or football, but soccer definitely is a contact sport

isnt golf in the spring and soccer in the fall??

but if it isnt like that for your school, just do golf if you dont want to run a lot

you cant even spell soccer, and he doesn't want to hear you tell him soccer isn't a sport so you may as well just stop posting in this thread

you = ignorant

golf is in no way gay, i dont see how you could think that, unless you suck at it

and i say you should play soccer, because you can play golf the rest of your life, and my time on jv i made a lot of friends younger than me

im playing golf next year but i havent played soccer since i was a lil tot. whatevers more fun to you

play JV soccer, that is what i did and after 4 games they moved me up to varsity, just try really hard at JV practices and games.

ummm read the thread tool, i didnt say its not, i said it doesnt have as much contact as others, it most certainly is a sport, read the thread next time gg.

you gotta look at it this way. you will be playing golf your whole life. and there are many buissnes deals that happen on the golf course. like if you play with your boss and you can impress him with your skills your in. anyways i say golf, but thats because im a golfer, team varsity captain at my school. so i say golf.

golf starts with a "g", so does "gay". those two words should be synonomous. play soccer for sure. i don't care it you're 23 and still a junior on jv, play soccer. it's better for you, and it's a really fun game. soccer soccer soccer. maybe i'll say it again, soccer. play soccer motherfucker. you'll be much happier. you can golf on the weekends with your pals, play competitive soccer in highschool while you can, you definitely won't regret it.

golf man, i was faced w/ the same situation...think of it man. When your 30 or 40 no one gives a shit if you can kick a ball. You play golf for your whole life and it's good to know how to play the game.

you said that you missed the contact so that means that your subconcious thinking wants for you to play soccer, as do i.

and for the people who think that you don't get hard in soccer a friend of mine, a captain on varsity broke two bones in his lower leg during a scrimmage a could weeks ago by coliding with a keeper and now his season is down the shitter.

Golf, soccer is fun, but I am your age too, and I would do what I am good at, what can you go further doing, and what can help you more

well, do you really want to be the big kid who didn't make the big team and dominates soccer whith the little kids.

I know I would, fucking go for soccer you're gonna rule that shit

Coming from someone who plays both lacrosse and soccer,

I feel A LOT more sore after a soccer game than I do after lacrosse. You get hit a lot in soccer, fall down a ton, and your legs feel like jelly. Lacrosse has a lot of padding and I usually don't feel the impact like I do when someone takes me down in soccer. There's a lot of knee to knee and head to head contact. Trust me, soccer is definately a beating. Try playing it on a collegiete level. There's a huge difference between high school and college.

soccor or as most of us spell it soccer is a contact sport. Two kids on my team broke their legs. And do you play sports just so you can think your tough? Soccer is an amazing game
